So here's a subject that's fun to talk about, Death.

What is Death? Death is something that will happen to all of us. It is the moment of truth. It is the split second in your mind, when DMT is flourished through your brain. If copious amounts of DMT are ravishing throughout your pineal gland, what the hell caused the reaction?

Like, they say, "Dying is faster than falling asleep". But whose to know? The second you realize you're going to die, has to be the cause of the reaction. There is no, "Well, I can maybe survive if I jump this way!". It just has to be, because you in your own head, discovered that you won't be able to escape, you understand that within the next split second, you will get hit by a tank/bullet and die.

At that moment, the certain moment when we all pass away, what the hell is he/she thinking? Could he just be thinking, "Damn, there taking my body away, but I still remember my soul and my name. Why are they doing such a thing!", How long does it take for you to leave your conscious?

The main point of this highdea, is start thinking about the second of death. And REALLY start to wonder, what triggers the mind to release the DMT? What the hell type of thought/idea comes up in your head to where your pineal gland, just gets vibrations pumped with DMT. When the second of death comes, you won't feel a thing. But what I really want to know is, is it just a simple conscious instinct reaction?

The simple reaction of, "Well, i'm fucked. I'm really going to die. This is it. I got about half a second to live and goodbye." You don't even have the chance to say BYE to your friends, your only thinking about yourself. You are only now realizing that you literally just lived your life and it's now over. What the fuck?

If this is the case, I would jump out of a plane with no parachute. How badass would it feel to realize you are going to die, and you get to contemplate the last 4 mins of your life, floating in air? Fuck yeah.

And also, quick sidenote: What the fuck happens to people that get their head blown off by a sniper rifle? There is no more pineal gland, it got obliterated. Which means, there's no DMT pumping? So what the fuck are they thinking when they die? Where does their conscious remain? Where could it go?

I think the finality of it really sets in. When you have under a minute to live you can't really get past the shock I don't think, at least many people can't. I think either way though your brain understands that there's no getting around it.
As far as your last question, I've often wondered that too.. but I think it mainly depends on your view of death. And as far as I know, psychedelics inhibit things in the brain, they stop the binding of certain proteins or the absorption of certain sugars. So rather than there being something new that wasn't there before, what if it's actually just reducing the filters our brain has created for our reality. Therefore with the DMT experience, what if it was the ultimate reducer? Sort of the most basic vibrational state we could inhabit and still survive?
If that's the case, instant death would just be the next step. No brain filter at all.
Hah great highdea brotha

Woah... So..instead of the prevention of absorption and binding of sugars and proteins causing the altered perception of reality that makes you trip... it instead momentarily prevents the trip we have come to know as reality and enables a pure unfiltered perception of life? o.O What inspired this theory??

Haha Aldous Huxley's "The Doors of Perception" I suppose. To some extent anyway, it sort of just came to me while i was typing my response

That is aN absolutely brilliant theory.

There's no evidence that DMT is associated with near-death experiences, or that it is even produced in the Pineal gland at all. so unfortunately, the entire highdea is based around a premise of pure speculation. However it was still entertaining

TrollJizz Says:

What if you realize you are going to die (someone holding a gun to your head) but then don't(someone shot him first) Perhaps not the realization of inevitable death, but maybe when the mind accepts that you are dying.. triggers the release.. maybe?
When DMT is used recreationally, the effects are extremely short lived without the addition of other chemicals.. so does the same apply to the DMT in our pineal gland? Is the purpose of that one final release be to relieve us of the experience of death itself? Or maybe it's necessary in order to access whatever's next (if anything) with our conscious intact?
Maybe the final release is so powerful it's actually NOTHING like dreams or tripping on it.. or maybe it is but the effects are multiplied? Idk.. who the fuck knows?? Dead people I guess...
Do you think researchers studying DMT in relation to death would be open to a seance to possibly further research lol?

Sky diving parachuteless has been my answer to the "how do you want to die" question since I was 6!!

I got in a bad car accident one time, and Tboned a guy going about 50 mph, the second before i hit the car all i could think was "im gonna die" nothing more. nothing less. It was like i was frozen and just accepted it, really weird feeling actually. The air bags went off and everything so i was still just confused because it felt like a black out and the pressure actually made me loose my hearing for a couple minutes. It's scary to look back on now and remembering it, but atleast i know at the time i thought i was going to die, i would have went out accepting it. Great Highdea

i really think u guys are getting too caught up with DMT and afterlife theories..
DMT is a hallucinogen, so it basically puts a filter on your consciousness
whether the filter reveals the true nature of the universe, or just another aspect of it, who's to say really?
regardless, when you die, DMT is not going to send you to an afterlife
it may give you a beautiful trip to end your life with, which would probably be quite enlightening and help you accept your death
but it is not going to open up some dimension for our soul to slip through to

also, DMT isn't released when you consciously think you're going to die, or else many torture victims would have some awesome trips...
it is released when your brain knows for certain that you're dying, not about to die, but literally dying
if you jump out of a plane and know you're going to die, dmt will not release
maybe a millisecond before you hit the ground, but who knows, no one's tried and lived to tell about it

i don't have the answer myself, but i dont believe we need a body for consciousness, so when the body dies, our consciousness simply awakens where it always had been
in the spirit world, in heaven, in a parallel universe, in an afterlife, no one really could say for sure
but whatever is really going on is a lot bigger than DMT and a lot bigger than our brain

Fri, 12/09/2011 - 3:59am

lol I definitely understand what you're saying..

when you said, "it is released when your brain knows for certain that you're dying, not about to die, but literally dying"

yes..I know.. that is what the whole highdea is about. The split second before death. The moment you will die. You're brain can't escape. That's what i'm talking about, and I agree with you on the parachute dude. I honestly don't think the DMT would come through unless he was a milisecond from the ground. Agreed.

But dude, as much as DMT is a hallucinogen. Yes, it can be just a hallucinogen that makes you trip. But when you do "trip" which I mean, go past the dimension, you have to smoke .025mg. Do you realize at least x1,000 more amounts of DMT are going throughout your pineal gland. I doubt you even have a "trip" when your dying, it's probably just a full release of consciousness. I honestly don't know, know one knows! But, the pineal gland is very important, and very powerful.

Don't mess around with the third eye, learn to open it, then you'll see what i'm saying. ;)

ohh man i didn't realize who made this post, i was so high i just read it and replied haha
so yea i see what you mean about DMT helping us awaken our consciousness completely just before death
but i really don't think the physical dimensions of the universe, or of ourselves, are what matters any more when we die
i think we make a clean break from our body to pure consciousness, whether or not DMT is released
because certainly some people could die instantly before they experience the DMT trip
when people have severe brain damage upon death, or explode, they don't experience the DMT trip, so it must not be a necessary means by which to reach the afterlife
that means it must only enhance the experience, if anything at all, but the end result should be the same
or should we all be incredibly careful to die with our heads in tact?... is that the way people go to hell? i really doubt it haha
anyways im probably really high and not explaining myself well but my main point is this
we don't need chemicals to achieve enlightenment
and we definitely don't need chemicals to transcend from our bodies into the afterlife
i'm sure you know this but it's important to remember, we already are what we should be, we are all one with the universe and ourselves
all we have to do is scrape off the rust that is our ego, and remember our body is just a shell, less real than what we really are
the chemicals in our brain's don't define our consciousness
our consciousness defines our chemicals

It's a documentary, you can find a link from google, or megavideo. Its 73 minutes long, worth every fckn second of it. Like i said, if you haven't already seen it, I don't care what you're doing or trying to do, please take the time to get stoned and watch that, BY YOURSELF!

it's better if you don't get distracted. Just be careful, you might constantly drop your jaws during the movie.

Personally , i think DMT just helps your " Soul " ( whatever you wanna call the thing that makes YOU, you. I.E the voice inside your head. The person you are right now etc etc ) Move into the next phase of our lives. Whatever it might be. So i think it helps your " Soul " move on into the next life or the " afterlife ". I believe their is sort of terminal type place we can go to somewhere in the universe/mutiverse in which we have the option to move on to are next live. Or we could just chill up there until we are ready to go back or just stay up there for as long as we want.

Now this " terminal " would most likely be a kind of random ship off for the " Souls ". In which you would pick to go on into your next life, BUT you get your past lives removed from your memory. Now i don't know about you guys but i have this weird feeling that i can sort of " feel " or have a " feeling " about a past life. ( maybe i am just weird.)

If you do have this same " feeling " as me. Please message me i would love to pick this idea apart. So for you , that don't know what i am talking about i'll explain:

I am deeply intrigued with World War ll , as well as Ancient Asian Civilizations. So my " idea " is that a few lifes ago. i lived during those two times. That's basically it. Where you got this weird " feeling " you've been there before. Kinda like a Déjà vu moment.

I don't think it's so much of a thought out decision as it is a subconscious reaction. For one not everybody that dies realizes it like you said, you can also be shot through the back of your heart without realizing it with pineal gland still intact. And I like how accepting you seem to be about it but not everybody else is. You might have somebody with a great will to survive where if they think they're about to die they kick in to overdrive to weasle the fuck out of it and get an adrenaline boost or a crystal clear mind and then BOOM motherfucker gets capped anyway right in the middle of an adrenaline rush instead of havin a trip. kinda good example: when they shoot po boy in cop out, he didn't expect that shit

Thu, 12/29/2011 - 7:58am

Consciousness runs on electricity. Your brain is an electrical conductor. The pineal gland is the fuse box. If any part of the electrical circuit is broken, the fuse box shorts out. The electrical energy contained in the neatly arranged circuit is now free. DMT taken recreationaly "flicks the switch" of the circuit very fast but then flips it right back. (very little science was put into this response, just high ponderin) As far as what people think when they die I don't think consciousness ever accepts death. We can trick ourselves into recognizing futility but the will to survive never goes away.

Thu, 12/29/2011 - 2:08pm

Either way.. I'd rather not die by having my head blown off. Just incase I need that gland to get into the afterlife somehow.

God: "Ok! Everyone get their pinal glands ready to be scanned so you vcan get into the gates of heaven"

Headless guy: "Fuck.."

Exactly. People think in this life, we coexist. They gotta understand

We've always coexisted, there's never an end. Life itself is the circle of life it repeats

So, i feel like putting this up because I've had a near death experience. When i was around 8, i was at this huge pool in Europe (Germany to be exact. Hochsauerland to be even more exact) while my family and I were on vacation. Basically, i started getting pulled under in a whirlpool, and after about 5 minutes of bobbing up and down, began to lose consciousness. During this time, even though i was flipping shit because i thought i was gonna die at such a young age, i was also somewhat at peace with everything. As i slipped in and out of consciousness, i could only focus on myself, and not having to worry about anything else was somewhat peaceful. I vaguely remembering seeing small flashes of my life when my dad finally found me hanging on the edge and was able to pull me up and over the wall.
