On the subject of series. The cirque du freak series is awesome. They made a movie from it which i heard sucked but i never bothered to watch it. Oh and Cell by stephen king. Still one of my top favs

Autobios are generally pretty sweet. Scar Tissue which Anthony Keidis wrote about his life is fucking insane. Probably the one of the quickest reads too

Always Running - Luis J Rodriguez - It's basically an autobiography of his life in an L.A. gang.

Native Son - Richard Wright - Crazy fucking book about a 20 year old black dude living in Chicago during the 30's.

Music of the Mill - Luis J Rodriguez - Book about a Mexican immigrant who comes to the U.S. with his wife to work in a steel mill. Follows him and his family whom he raises in the L.A. area.

Highly, highly, highly recommend these books. Seriously, I'm high right now. These books heavily deal with social/stark realism.

Dude you gotta read this book called "The Happening" its about the rapture happening in our time and its just freeking crazy the whole series is like 6 or 8 books and it just gets INSANE. Its pure awesomeness!

Going Bovine - Libba Bray.
It's about a teenage boy (who mildly smoke weed) who gets this disease that will kill him. But it makes him TRIP BALLS. Like, he sees these big fire giants that try to kill him, and he finds a guy that opens black holes with his trumpet. It's a dope book dude.

One day long time ago I read Cats Cradle(one of the greatest books ever IMO), and I went through a Vonnegut phase and read all of his books in a few weeks. Slaughter house five, Time quake, Breakfest of Champions, and the rest all fantastic in their own way.
