Spread the word!

I was reading a book and came across a detail the government has neglected to mention...The US holds a patent on "cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants" - patent 6630507.

For all of us too stoned to know what that means- the same government that puts marijuana in a Schedule 1 drug class has a patent on it's medicinal effects... F'cked up much?

Up vote this, raise its popularity, and spread the word- people need to hear this!

If you think you masked your plea for upvotes well, you didn't. This site isn't for popularity. If it's a good highDEA it will be published, don't fucking beg for upvotes.

Actually this site is entirely for popularity, it's entire structure is based on the popularity of highDEAS...my post wasn't an idea though, it was a plea for awareness- not upvotes..next time you want to bash someone, pack a bowl, roll a blunt, enjoy a bong..and chill

we need some smart scientist to decipher this

Yeah that's the patent the government has - let me decipher it as best as i can

The government has claimed the right to the medicinal effects of marijuana without claiming the right to marijuana itself by adding in that second part, the part about it needing to be "nonpsychoactive"..That way they can still claim marijuana to be illegal and a drug while keeping a patent on the very medicinal effects marijuana has and therefore allow the government to make money.

This means while they're calling marijuana an illegal substance in the same level as LSD and heroin, they recognize what it can do for people, and have claimed the rights to the way weed affects people (other than the high).

Our government's stance on marijuana is two-faced.

Here's a good thread about this over on 420magazine if anyone's interested in reading up on it!
