Human Wings

If we put sensors on a birds wing that is to scale to our own bodies (like 15:1) and mapped the movement of the wings over sustained flight couldnt we build wings that could support a human in flight? It would be the EXACT same flight pattern that birds wings do (which is like a figure 8 motion.) I think we have the technology, someone get me these robot wings!

The scale may need to be altered. Birds have hollow bones which impact the scale needed for us with more dense bones.

Fantastic highDEA though. Who wouldn't want to fly...or even just to soar.

Blaze on ;)~

Most of flying is the birds gliding and catching different wind currents to help them rise and fall. The wind necessary to help the average 150lb person fly would have to be hurricane force intense. And fat peoples wings would be HUGE.

not to mention our arm muscles aren't meant to move very much weight in the directions required for flight, and it would put all the stress on your shoulders, birds are designed to fly! but still a kickass highdea!

yea birds bones r hollow but that would be sooo tight

yeah if it was like pneumatically powered or something that would be sweet

We could try hollowing out your wings in my basement. Where do you live?

I meant bones...but we could do both.

what if you could make huge wings capable of carrying you and some sort of device for power...

shits called an airplane man!
