You know what sucks? When your highDEA doesn't get enough votes, it seems to just disappear in the shuffle! Fuck voting! People should start voting on the new and upcoming highDEAs instead of voting for one that already has like 100+ votes! Everyone can already see those ones! So why not help someone get their awesome highDEA published?! Stoners of the world unite! Help me get this baby published so everyone will realize they should vote for new highDEAs and not the already published ones! Thanks guys!!!

How to fix government, no dude, really!
What if we passed a bill that made it so we, the people, vote on how much Senators and House Representatives get paid. If we are going to be paying them out of our tax dollars, why shouldn't we be able to regulate their salary. If they do a shitty job, they don't get paid. Simple. It would create a competitive environment where the person would actually be trying to do what the majority wanted, because making them happy gets him a raise. As of right now, the senate votes on their own raises; that money comes out of taxes.
Ability to revise my own highdea
I would like the ability to revise my own highdea after people have voted, based on constructive criticism. This is just in addition to an idea that was already suggested. People could gain points towards the algorithm if changes are incorporated in some way. It would encourage more comments, and therfore, more socializing.
What about 5 levels of voting?
2 x UP - Freaking awesome.
UP - Very good idea, sir.
NEUTRAL - Conflicted or don't care but noted.
DOWN - Overlooking a few flaws or lacks content or originality.
2 X DOWN - Without merit or effort, spam
Be able to mark highdeas as Duplicate/Already Exists
There could be a button underneath the main voting arrows on both the voting lists and individual idea pages where you can mark it as either being a duplicate and/or already existing. This should nominate that particular idea for deletion, though it might not be deleted if it's decided that the two ideas are different enough to be separate highdeas.
Also, maybe you can have the number of people that have pressed the Duplicate/Exists button appear directly beside this new button.
Be able to change your votes on highDEAS
There's been a time or two where I completely changed my mind on an idea I voted on but had no way of changing my vote. I think it would help the quality of the site for it not to be so stiff with its functionality. I was reading past popular ideas and came across the dishwasher cabinet one and was like "hey, why is this voted down?!" I really wanted to vote it up instead of down just now, but sadly I cannot.
Website idea: a website where people submit reviews about new tv shows
You register an account and every time you watch an episode of a new show, you vote on it and leave feedback. That way, executives would always know exactly how popular the show was. At the end of the episode, it says "txt this number and then your score 0-10 of tonights episode to XXX or login at xxx." (chance to win prizes for voters?).
