Reasons for Down Voting
I think if you are going to down vote then you need to provide an explanation for your actions. There are too many people just down voting everything for no reason.

my highdea is for people to post the reason why they down vote.......
Would it show who down voted?
Maybe we get rid of the down vote altogether. I'm new here, but a lot of it is just traffic versus up votes. You may have 8 up votes but 80 reads, so your calculated "read and like" score would be a 10. (10 percent liked this enough to click the vote button.)
This way each new idea starts with a perfect 100 score (with the author giving it the 1 for 1 result), but as signed in people view it and don't give it a pass it on vote the score would drop.
The best ones would be the ones that stood the test of time, but everything would be given a chance.
You can see who voted and what vote they voted by looking right above the comment area. It says "who voted" and is in tab form.

first you should tell us reasons for wanting to know the reason why someone down voted. its only fair to know why someone wants to know why.of course then you would want to know why,i want to know why, you want to know why. may be that we just dont like your highdea, or dont understand your obviously a genius, or savant. tomato-tomato

Great Idea. That way if some one just doesn't understand what you mean you can explain it better. Or it could be a way for people to point out various flaws in your highdeas. Then you could strive to make your highdeas real accomplishments.

I agree with most of your criticisms...but as I view the site I find you don't walk the walk. You seem to step on people's fun a lot of the time, and sometimes use idea space for crap like this to call it an "idea".
