I have recently decided to take up the drums, but my room is far too small and packed for even the most simplistic of kits, acoustic or electric. I propose an improvement on infared sound machine technology; expand the idea to create what my title says. Basically, an infared sensor brain with projected infared lines, set up in a strategic location of the user's choosing. You take a seat, grab your sticks (which at this point are optional, depending on user preference), and rock out to the true definition of "air drums". Since it's only a HighDEA at this point, with no "boundaries", I think you could be able to expand your kit with more infared, adding different sounds to create a super kit that fites in the smallest of rooms (but not too small, I'd figure). I've done a small amount of loose research and have yet to find any preexisting models of this HighDEA; please correct me if I'm wrong, though, and post me a link. I'd love to see an already existing kit in action.

thats badass, i don't know if thats possible but it sounds raw
i'm a beginner drummer to and my biggest piece of advice is learn to keep the beat with your left hand (its easier if you haven't played drums before then if you have) it will make drumming so much easier, and will always be a cool trick to impress a drummer of any level.
also check out The Mars Volta and Tv On The Radio, they both have really good drummers

edit: learn to keep the beat with your left hand but also keep learning it regularly to. having that ambidextrous ability will help a lot

This is legit. Very original and would be a pretty amazing technology. I don't even play the drums and I would still probably buy this invention cause it sounds so cool!

Ive seen that before bro and its actually the exact product that got me thinkin on this; it happened during a sesh where my buddies and I were talking of all the outrageous add-ons they put in cars on Pimp My Ride, and it kinda went from there on my part

I'd buy it, then I could use it in my own room instead of having to die from the heat in the garage, but I don't think it'd have the same feel as the uhh wow I forgot, oh analogue kit and that might be a turnoff

If I had the time and expertise I so would, bro. Maybe when I have time for a while, I'll give some kind of patent a try, after I get an actual model made, or a drawing, or somethin

Smoke on.

So sick, i make music and this probably could apply to other instruments like synthesizers and such. if this took off it really has the potential to revolutionize how people "play" music/instruments.

This is a pretty cool idea, but not having something to hit would fuck most drummers up. It'd definitely fuck me up, rebound is key.
