If you shrunk your friends like they did in HTSTC, you'd have a bunch of very small people with a disproportionate amount of muscle mass, given Earth's gravity remaining constant. You would likely all be in excruciating pain as your body is unable to cope with the relative gravity differential you'd be experiencing. Your body would be at a disproportionate mass differential compared to when you were a regular-sized human. If you were to retain your mass as a shrunken human, you'd simply be torn apart by the tidal forces exerted by Earth's gravity (lots of mass in a small volume, with no change in cellular structure means that you'd be experiencing gravity at a ratio proportionally related to the amount of mass you retain as your net volume decreases through the shrinking process).

In a second scenario, you would remove mass in the shrinking process (lose cell density, and effectively become something that is far removed from a human), and your central nervous system would cease to exist in any usable capacity - because the change in relative distance that your normal neural impulses would have to travel would be far too large for your neurons to function as they would in your brain as normal. On top of that, the cannabinoid receptors in your brain would also be microscopically-small in comparison to the size and chemical makeup of regular-sized humanoid cannabinoid receptors. Useless cannabinoid receptors and an equally-useless central nervous system would yield a very unpleasant experience as a shrunken stoner.

Suffice it to say, there are glaring technical issues to overcome when shrinking a human being, but it would quite literally be impossible to consume THC in any psychoactive format unless you also shrink said cannabis. So, you're all better off as you are.
