What if...?

My friend was really drunk last night and he said it didn't matter, because since he was intellectually present during our conversations, he would, theoretically remember it. This got me thinking (after a few bowls), what if we are just re-living a memory. They say that, when you are about to die, your life flashes before your eyes. What if this is just part of the flash, that we in reality, are facing an event that is making us flash through all these memories? What if, since time is relative, our life is ending in reality and so we "flash" through our memories? It could take only a few miliseconds in reality, but it feels like a lifetime to the current us, which is partaking in the memory. That being said, I don't wanna bring down this group by being morbid, so I'm gonna toss out the idea of destiny. What if we all have a destiny, and every revelation, every idea, every event we are involved in, brings us one step closer to discovering the secrets of the unknown?
I'd like to hear other people's speculations or revelations, I have been captivated, and I know I'm gonna be thinking about it again later when I'm baked again.

Sometimes I think things like that. What if the life that we are living right now is just a story that somebody is telling in real life?

What if instead of a memory, everyone was controlled by their past life. Like Jesus controlled Hitler and got back at all the... that's not cool

Tell me more... Wow!

this so deep...its crazy to think about shit like that man but it could be true

so in this one instant our world is our memories and everything we say and do is following the timeline of our own memories... thats crazy

dude, go have a bit of a weed nap :P:P
ahaha jksjks

You just blew my mind.

Im confused

I think we're all a little confused

the mayans believed their was 5 time cycles, the last of the 5 ending according to them on 12/21/2012 (like the movie). Relating your idea to the time cycles it makes me think what if the cycles are us remembering past lives or memories and at the end of the last cycle we remember all of them and are in a different state of being? most likely not im bakkeedd, steamrollers of legit super silver haze haha session two starting soon :) awesome post by the way

my steamroller was stolen...

get another one asap, arent they amazing mines got rollor etched into the glass

i just might do that

My mind was just fucked by your words

I have something similar:
They say when we die, our brain lives on for 8 more minutes. What if during those 8 minutes we relive every single moment in our lifetime? Think about it we have short conversations in the matter of a couple minutes, our thought process is even faster than that. We have entire dreams in less than 5 seconds. So right now this is just all a memory. Don't get me wrong I still believe in free will and all but deja vu shows that we are on the right track cause it is something that we forgot but are remembering, so that's why it's familiar.

I also have deja vu (thanks for spelling that).

I read once that deja vu is the result of our short term memory skipping back a second or so. I am not sure I agree with this. But the feeling that I have been / done this before... Sometimes but not in major ways.

I dream of things that happen to me. It takes a long time for the dream to present itself in life, often years. But I know I had a dream about the event. I keep a dream diary.

Some times I hope I am crazy because I have dreamed some reallllllly fu|

No. Sorry i just disagree.

But this reminded me of that movie; where at the end the universe happened to be inside the marbles of alien children.

And when you die, or have one foot on the grave; the other on a banana peel, your brain releases the chemical DMT, which causes a major trip.(the flashes of memories)

What your saying is pretty damn crazy i have to say.

men in black :)

Ever heard of Dimethyltryptamine (DMT)? It is the strongest psychedelic known to man, and it is naturually produced in the human brain. That phenominon of your life flashing before your eyes as you die is actually a massive dose of DMT being released by your brain in its final moments. So in reality you are just tripping balls. DMT is also released nightly in REM sleep, dreams are trips too.

I would love to know where you got that info. DMT sounds worth looking into.

Good luck, it's extremely rare...I have an extremely difficult time finding acid let alone something as powerful as dmt

ive smoked DMT before..
i cant even begin to describe what i saw, heard, or felt

but it was..just..

dude thats so trippy i've had the same exact thoughts alot.

it also makes you think that you should do whatever you want because you do only live once. if you want to coast along in life then do it. you still need to have responsibilities but still

wow.... my mind is blown
this is soooo crazy.

that totally just blew my mind.

oh my gosh... so were like not really here right now? we are just a memory of ourselves? well if its just a memory in our mind... then we can change our mind at any time? there for our parents were right when when they said we can b nething we wanna be lol

I've definitely thought about this before. I also believe in destiny/fate for sure. but more like everything you do has an effect on your future, like the butterfly effect. Like if you hadn't made the decision to do one little thing your life could end up completely different. I used to be a figure skater, and i know if i didn't do that my life would be completely different. I might not even be a stoner!! haha my best friends that i met through skating and i all kinda became stoners together. I would be SO different without just randomly deciding to start skating when I was 8.

"I'm diverse. I save the world second, and I get high first."

you're onto something: the same flashing/ cycling/ relapse of past present and future experience hit me when i had a salvia trip. very fucking nutty

There are a lot of what ifs in this logic, and I feel bad being here because I am, in fact, not high at the moment. Sorry guys.

Anyway, I'll play along.

In this logic, where we are all living our flash back, what would happen when we come to die? Wouldn't we have another flashback in the flashback that we are currently having. Dooming us to an endless cycle of unknowingly living our lives over and over, not being able to die. Just coming very close to it and going back to the start in another flashback.

That's what I thought too, but when you get to that point, and you flash back to your life, would you be able to know it's a flashback, or would you be just as naive as the last time, and possibly the time before that, and before that one, and so forth. Really, if you think about it, if that's the case, then do we live forever? Or do we live infinetly in that one frame of time for the rest of eternity?

i thought about that after i got really baked for a week straight every day, then after a week or two shit started happening that i thought was so familiar it had to be deja vu.. i think thats what you mean anyways

so were not really here right now? its a memory? so therefore, we would have had to be in this exact same spot howevermany years ago. but wouldnt things have been way different? like technology wise and stuff. or maybe theres crazy shit in the future. idunno

well now we WOULD know that it was all a flashback because we just figured it out lol

i wanna smoke what you're smoking
