Our mind is not a part of our body.
Everyone knows this right? There have been studies where people would get hypnotized and their hand would get put in freezing cold water. The hypnotist would ask the person how they felt and they would say "fine, nothing is wrong." Then they would be handed a pad and paper and be told to let the hand write and the hand would begin writing "ouch. it hurts. stop the pain." An example I just had was that I was not cold until my mind released my body was cold... and from then on I have been cold. But before that point I still had goosebumps because my body was cold, my mind just didn't REALIZE it because I'm so high.

k, so when i'm high it just seems like the connections between my body and mind are separated, neat, and really fast. i mean my normal iq score is 103, the national average, 111. when i'm high, my iq score is 134! i think the THC somehow gives your brain a boost then like beer kills a few off after. so, its good, but only in careful doses.

That shits hella true though. Similar to when you are tripping on L, you can literally control your brain into not thinking that you are cold and then you don't feel cold. It all has to do with nerve receptors and such sending messages to your brain. It sounds like boring science shit but its hella trippy.

this reminds me: my 12th grade psych teacher worked on an experiment in grad school where they hypnotized a guy and gave him an empty bowl and told him to eat it because it was full of sugar. they took his blood sugar levels then had him "eat" the whole thing and they took a reading of his blood sugar levels and they had gone up like 10%. psychology/science is so fucking cool when youre stoned
I completely feel you. I was driving my car yesterday (pretty high, hadnt smoked in a day or two). I popped in a cd. I was lost in my thoughts but after a couple minutes I was thinkin vaguely "hey.. i remember burning this cd and this doesn't sound like the first song I remember putting on!" i was hearing a completely different song til I realized what the song should have been...two minutes into the song was when I finally started hearing it. before that, my mind was just makin up shit.
Damn! Hadn't been on highdeas in about a week. This highdea barely had any attention last week. I get back and it's just exploded! Thanks for all the positive reviews guys. This is the kind of shit I love to think about. I believe THIS kind of stuff is the important stuff to research and think about. Not sports, money, bullshit jobs, your car, your house... worthless shit. We, as human beings, need to start figuring out some of the more important things. Things that seperate us from other animals on this planet. Spiritual stuff. Not religious, spiritual. There is a difference.
