the striking similarity between the makeup of atoms and molecules versus solar systems and galaxy's? What if we all literally have the entire universe fractalised inside us? Somewhere there's a microscopic little you chillin on some electron called earth puttin herb in the air.

Dude I never noticed that... that's awesome. The entire universe could just be like an atom to some bigger picture that we could never even fathom.

I sorta just rhymed.

absolutely, the similarities are striking. everyone should check out the new run of "cosmos" with neil degrasse tyson if they're interested in thinking about the universe.

This is a great thought! Not being a stickler but, electrons don't actually travel around the nucleus in an orbit. What you are referring to is the Bohr model(http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr162/lect/light/bohr.html). Which is the best way to really show the electron traveling around the nucleus. When actually what the electron travels through is called the electron cloud. Which is basically just a space where the electron "COULD" be. The different levels or "orbitals" are just different levels of intensity of the electron. I love learning about science keep questioning and of coarse keep burning :).

Check out this awesome video that is the limit of our understanding of particles."https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfPeprQ7oGc" if the link doesn't work then look up Doctor Quantum double slit experiment.

I literally think about the universe in these terms every day. It's the only thing that makes sense to me. And then there's the fact that the universe as we see it is infinitely limited by our ability to perceive it.

This theory has a name, it's called Sacred Geometry, it's worth looking into. It's the concept that everything is shaped the same way as a whole (macrocosm) and as individual parts (microcosm) crazy stuff, that's all I remember at the moment though. xD

Well, if you think about it the atoms we are made of came from an exploding star (supernova) millions of years ago so technically speaking we are the universe watching ourselves. Also, atoms are 99% empty space, and since we are made up of all atoms we are 99% empty space.
