Do any Americans agree with me? Or do you guys actually not realize how fucked up your society is?
- Honest question from your Canadian pal!
Dude all americans agree with you.
agreed. although on a side note, im grateful that I actually have a decent place to live, compared to other, third world countries.
yeah, our society is kinda fucked up... definitely agreed. england's even worse actually, ahha.. however, seeing as you are a foreigner..don't dis my country.
American and damn proud of it
Yeah, we all know it. It's that whole waiting for people to start respecting us thing though, people who want to actually change things aren't taken seriously. So we're chillin' for a few years and then fixin' shit, well, that's the plan anyway.
Everyone criticizes us, and I really don't know if I've ever disagreed, I just kind of nod my head and tell them I want to live in Canada or Australia, or Portland, Oregon just because it's cool there. But yeah, majority of us agree. It's just the oldsters we're waiting for to change their minds about something, anything.
So yeah, chillin'.
I WISH I WAS CANADIAN. Canada's my favorite.
Portland is dope.
I live here
Young people come here to retire
Dude! I'm in Portland. And yeah - this city is great. We should smoke some weed together.
Nah man, pretty much all of us american stoners know how fucked up our country is, it's the sober Americans ht are ignorant to it.
are you from alaska?
I give myself two options once i finish college:
I speak spanish, so i'm considering relocating to Mexico or anywhere in Latin America. My second option is to move to Canada, probably Ontario or British Columbia(you know why haha)
Yeah man I'm right with ya, I'm gonna move to B.C in a couple yearscuz of the stoner culture AND it's just so goddamn beautiful there
Yeah... Canada > Mexico. By A LOT.
See exhibit A: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/11/mexico-mass-grave_n_847614.html
Don't hate on Mexico, man. It really is a beautiful place and it's citizens are way different than people here in the United States. People there are so friendly and it just seems they carry themselves in such a different way. They aren't influenced by tv and material possessions in the same way we are. Not to say it's some poor and sucky place to live in that doesn't have television. It's just that Americans have the worst mind set about fucking everything. It's like Mexicans treat you with the utmost respect, as if they've known you their whole lives. A lot of people here would give you that wtf face if you just said hi.
dude, adventure time rules, i upvoted everything you have
sick basses! im a bassist too.
i def. agree with u!!!
Well, that's good to know.
For those who don't know about Canada, except in places like Toronto, there's not many cops. I live in a small city, just outside Greater Toronto Area. While the general population is still equally uniformed as yours, nobody really takes marijuana as an offense. Also, it's barely a crime here. 6 months in jail, $2000 fine, maximum, for carrying 30g or less on you. They're not after the little people. If they catch us, sometimes, they'll arrest us. But this also depends on where you are. Most of the time, however, they won't go after us unless they either catch us in the act of smoking in a public place, or they are trying to convict us of something else too.
What that boils down to is this: I live here happily, but nobody understands me except a few. The law does look down on us, sure, but I've never in my life been approached by a cop. Our neighbourhoods are friendly, and safe, so you don't have to worry about crime above "troubled high school teen" level. It's kinda nice. However, society is still for the most part fucked up, but there is TONS of open land to be free, if you so wanted to buy up several hundred acres in the middle of nowhere, you could, and for around $100,000. Way cheaper than a house.
But I can not speak for other parts of Canada. We don't really hear about them at all. Just Ontario. The other ones are totally separate from us. I have no IDEA how they live, either. One day I'll get to travel, and I'll find out.
yo where at bro im like just out of hamilton
I live in south Texas and the laws suck completely.
I'm not in any way a criminal but I've been through a lot of crazy shit with the police for just marijuana it's ridiculous..
Sometimes, a lot of times, I feel out of place here.
Canada seems more peaceful than most parts in America, and it's such a drag that the calm can't spread universally, because of corrupted society and government. Yeah America has some beauty, but most of us are straight up fucked and lost.
I do love my home, but you're right. I would love to travel the rest of this world, it'd be tremendous.
No our government is retarted here, and will be until I come to power.
I find it extremely ironic when people spell the word retarded wrong. Who's the "retart" now?
not my fault, i was really high haha
dude, don't be a dick come on.
The irony is i think Americans realize it more than foreigners XD!!!!!!!
America is fucked.
I'm right there with ya canadian buddy!
I think most of us realize it. It's not the people's fault though, our government is being very stubborn right now.
it is the peoples fault! the people put that government there and they have the power to take it down if they want. viva la revolution!
dude, the people that put it in are 235 years past dead. this is a new world and a lot of us are put down or brainwashed because we're revolutionaries.
there's a lot of lazy people here so i agree with you, but still. i've been trying to do my part so don't blame all of us.
I think that the legislation that happening right now in America is completely wrong. It appears to be personal agendas and mindless bills being passed. Whereas situations that require immediate action or at least a lot of deliberation are being pushed aside and ignored OR being voted on quickly without thinking. Granted, I do believe that hopefully we can fix the current situation that's happening I hope it will be sooner than later.
Yeah, its pretty bad. I'll be moving when I graduate.
I definitely agree. It kinda sucks being from America, a lot of people consider every single American scum. I find that ignorant.
Basically, to anyone who reads, don't hate the Americans, hate the individuals who cause Americas' problems.
I'm considering a move to Canada.
I'm pretty sure we all know how fucked our country is. Politicians are all liars and the old men that we have in office don't care about the younger generations or our future. They're basically in office for their own good and to amass their own wealth as they're bleeding us dry of our hard earned money. Basically we're all fucked.
Sweetie i more than fucking agree with you! lol
It's the American government that's fucked up, not the people. Our government continuously brainwashes the ignorant, conservative public that's too afraid to educate themselves in order to stand up for themselves. The government is supposed to fear the people, but here the people fear the government, and that's totally backwards. I hate living in this country, it goes against everything I believe.
you can't blame it all on the government. hollywood and reality tv have just as much to do with the degradation of american society as greedy/selfish politicians.
Right, that's true. Not %100 on the government.
indubitably. but what place isn't, right?
America #1 baby.
i literally think about this ALL the time. i think about how i would restructure america if it were possible.
i mean, geographically, america is GREAT. we are on both coasts, we have huge amounts of land and the ability to farm all kinds of foods with our diverse climates, we have a super diverse population.
but the way our society and our government are structured.... there's just so much room for improvement!
i sometimes wish that i lived in america several hundred years ago... it's just such a simpler time. like. i would LOVE to be a native american. (before the europeans rolled in, obviously)
america is SO fucked. it makes me sick to think about our government and the shit that goes on. definitely an ex-patriot in the making here im out of america when i can afford it.
i dont even stand up for the pledge of allegiance anymore in school, i dont support where our country is going
Canada is fucked up too, though. Most governments are in one way or another.
they're doin' pretty good man.
i want to move to Canada because our government is so corrupt and they are such assholes that it makes me want to leave this country, we dont have any freedom at all if you think about it
Yeah we are supposed to be a free country yet people get in trouble all the time because we don't have that so called freedom USA brags about
our society fuckin sucks, but some are to prideful to admit it!!
I want to move to Canada for many reasons... The landscapes, my background, NO WARS ( that I hear of) and they are Sooo Damn friendly. Right on Canadian brotha.
Americas a fuckin bitch, inflation will kill us all, and on top of that they cant even legalize weed to tax us on it, what a fucking joke.
