Right now, Voyager 1 is 10 BILLION miles away cruising the solar system.

maybe the first moon landing was directed to beat russia to it since that all happenned during the cold war but weve definately been on the moon since and since the most suggested universe theory is that it started as exetremely small and dense then expanded outward that would make the universe circular
