In some languages, it's actually considered double-V, not dubbleyoo.
If its "double U" it should be typed out as uu because in french its "double v" there for when you right it its written like vv w..why if were typing in english it came up double v lookalike! I'm so high:)

dude i totally agree.. my names starts with 'W' (initials WMD hahah cheaa.) so, basically, i have to say it a lot
also, when you spell a word with 'W' in it, you say it faster so it ends up taking the same amount of time to say as the other letters in the word, even though its more syllables. think about it.

maybe its because people used to write in cursive and in cursive double U looks more like two u's than two v's. ?? just a theory.
