Classic rock shouldn't be called classic rock, and not all music that comes out nowadays is bland, I don't know about you guys, but personally I think music is progressively getting better, Just because all that gets played seems to be Top 40 doesnt mean you have to listen to it, and it doesn't mean thats whats truly popular out there in fact most real musicians are moving away from conventional means of having their stuff heard,
