This plan is simple.

Step1: Every person that smokes in the USA moves to a state of our choice, voted on prior to moving.
Step2: We elect a leader amoung us to run for governer, we will have the majority vote come election time.
Step3: This new leader passes a new law to make weed legal in that state, once again we have majority.
Step4: Once weed is legalized in this state all the stoners plant as many plants as they can at the begining of the outdoor season.

The end result would be a state covered and ruled by weed and people who smoke weed. We could pick the best state, and completely own it.

I remember learning about some third-party state idea some college kid had a while ago very similar to this, the only problem was that not enough people went through with it. And knowing stoners, there's gonna be a lot less motivation to get the hard shit done - cause somebody's gotta do it.

yeah the "everyone who agrees with me, let's get together and invade a state" idea has been around a while, and for every possible thing. I remember the conservatives talking about doing that for a while.

Then the gay marriage crowd (before there were states who actually recognized it), they were talking about that too. Who knows, maybe that worked out for 'em?

I'm with it, but everyone choose Alabama so I don't have to move LOL.

Sat, 08/29/2009 - 11:00am

Alabama? LAME! We need to congregate in the what is already the biggest stoner state: Colorado! its already very pro-cannabis, and the small population would allow us to easily overcome any local population who opposed us. And think, the higher elevation means that for all you coastal folks you would get more stoned and more drunk with less of the green or the sauce. And the water boils at a lower temp. Here. Just another bonus of America's skinniest and highest stoner per capita state!

While in theory, that sounds pretty awesome, and I'd be all for it if it would actually won't.
While changing the law in one state to legalize marijuana would stop the state police, marijuana still wouldn't be recognized by federal law as legal, so them pesky feds would be up in your business 24/7.
What we need to do is get everyone to move to a different country =D I vote Canada. it only has 32 million people. that's less than California! we could totally take over. Plus, BC is in Canada.

canada would't be good either for this plan. he was talking about a place where weed grows very well. it can grow in canada but not as well as let us say mexica.

An island nation would be ideal. We could just go violently take Cuba! I figure if you're going to move to another country, why not one that already has it legal; i.e. The Netherlands, Italy, etc.

Okay guys, let's be real here! I live in California and we're already half way there. We'll be voting on AB 390 next year which will legalize marijuana for private and commercial use. I get your concern about California being pretty big, but we already have so much support that it's almost a done deal as it is, but any help is good! All we gotta do is pull our heads out of our asses, work together, and get out and vote! All we need is a simple majority in the polls. Besides, California's a fun place anyway, why not move here? Might as well get here in time to vote.

@bluediameter: weed isn't legal in holland or italy or spain...

legal would mean that you are not prohibited to buy, grow, sell,use....
it is only condoned.

I agree about California!! It would be rough getting things organized in an orderly fashion though...something that would be cool is to have a state like this and then have all of those unofficial holidays and weed-smoking ceremonies OFFICIALLY recognized and celebrated. yeah.

As a California native living elsewhere (for now), I am TOTALLY on board for going CA. This would mean that we could also cultivate hemp, which is incredibly versatile and would be a good way to start producing more (perhaps balance out consumerism); and, because it would be a fairly new industry, it would be possible to make it green. Ah, green. So many wonderful things are green.

California's economy needs a good kick start anyway.

P.S. Isn't Herr Gubernator up for reelection soon? If we managed to get organized and moved on it, this wouldn't be totally impossible...(But you know, while I'm not an authority on this at all, it seems that Schwarzenegger isn't so bad, ja? Could do better, but at least from a far he doesn't seem completely inept or whatever...ha)

When did I say Spain? and while it is only "Condoned" that's as big a step in reform as we realistically have at the moment. They aren't going to fully legalize because they simply don't have the farmland. As a general tradition, if New York, California, Florida or Illinois go one way then the rest of the country will follow. If we can get all these states on board we might be able to sway the nation. If that doesn't work then it's up to the U.K.

I vote Montana. It's got beautiful scenery and a population of like 50 so it would be really easy to take over. We could do to it what the Mormons did to Utah!

Sun, 10/04/2009 - 9:17pm

Rhode island small population be easy to run over and then new york after

I'm pretty sure that the more land we could get the better, and it looks like we could take over at least 7 states with just 1 million people. (according to wikipedia population count) Rhode island we would need just 50 thousand more to take it over.

here are the states we could take with just one million people, in order of population count highest to lowest: Montana, Daleware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, Vermont, Wyoming

So how about we get 3 million people, and just take over Montana and the dakotas and combine them into a great territory of weed. It wouldn't be hard to grow there AND we get Mt. Rushmore. Win win

Mon, 10/05/2009 - 11:14am

i just saying start small grow big and i think rhode island is about to vote on medical weed in the near future

There are millions of islands still undiscovered, and even some on ebay for really cheap. We will need to subsidize pizza hut so they move to our island first, then we are all set.

That would be amazing, it would be awesome if it started a trend though. Stoners live in california, drunks lived in texas, smokers lived in nevada.. Ect. Only complication is if you are a combination of any of them. California is ideal to me because it covers the entire country north to south you have every climate you want and you're never far from a beach.

You live the life you lead
