My Dad Was a BIG TIME Stoner!!
Pops just recently died in november, and about 6 months before he died, he told me he smoked weed (EVERY DAY!!) FOR THE PAST 40 YEARS!! so the last 6 months of his life, we smoked a bunch of weed together, and because of those conversations we had while we were high, i feel like we became closer than we EVER were before! its kind of a double edge sword cause it makes me sad that we didnt smoke together sooner in life, but im also happy cause it brought us closer together while he still was here! we truly conected like never before! Thank You Pot, for the last 6 months with my dad.....he was "one of the good guys" and will be missed! :/

I wish I could have smoked up with my dad. He passed a few years ago. I hear he was high a lot in his younger days, but stopped around the time I was born.
AND THE KICKER IS: I NEVER SMOKED WEED BEFORE I DID WITH POPS! NOW I SMOKE EVERY DAY AND MY LIFE IS SO MUCH BETTER CAUSE OF IT! THANKS DAD (I EVEN USE MY DADS BONG, AND THINK ABOUT HIM EVERY TIME I TAKE A RIP)

he was the best! and while im smoking out of his bong, im usually wearing his favorite Dodger Hat. it makes me feel really "Close" to him.....kinda like hes here with me.

Dude so sorry for your loss. See I dunno if my dad smoked but he's sorta good guy. He knows I smoke, I know he knows, we don't talk about it but since i became a daily smoker I've been trying to be a better person so as not to disappoint him or make him think I'm a screw up cause of weed. But yesterday I saw my godfather, whom I see every like 5 months, the thing is he had writers block so he took a mayor ass cigar blazed up and started writing like crazy 17 pages in as many minutes. So since we're mad tight I jokingly said: hey tío (im puertorican)when you were my age, were you a stoner cause since you lit that thing youre going 30 mph. He laughed and said keep your voice down, tomorrow we'll talk just the two of us. It really made me feel close to him, thing is he forgot about the conversation so maybe it was one of those special cigars, in which case I'm pissed cause he didn't pass it. I know it's not a something to lift your spirits or anything (though I hope you feel better about your loss) but since you shared that story I wanted to share mine (though they do not compare what so ever) Your dad is smoking a fattie up in weed heaven. Where the clouds are giants buds. Peace man.

my dads fighting cancer right now, but smoked weed for about 25 years often. i would offer to smoke with him, but he doesn't even approve of me smoking :\
you guys are great!! yeah, the old man died of cancer (liver, lung, lymph node AND throat!) he was a 2 pack day smoker and a stoner sence 10th grade. he died on November 6th at 11:29pm.....he would have been 60 on Dec 7th. we had a huge surprise party planned for the big 6-0.... but he didnt make it that far. to be honest, ive never met anyone so committed to his family and so easy going....he was just so great to be around and always made everyone feel safe. they broke the mold with him! he was A REAL MAN!! something im trying to become right now....Heres to you Dad! i love you, i cant thank you enough for everything you did for us, your always in my heart Pops :/

My condolances. My dad passed away a few years back and I never had the chance to have a solid relationship with him, let alone toke one with him.
In retrospect, I'm pretty sure those "tobacco" pipes he was always smokin when I was a kid were full of weed, so I may have been burnin with the old man without even knowing!
