you guys remember signing that petition to legalize marijuana on the petition section of the white house website right? well just wait until you hear the response they sent us....

well first of all, they didnt make the kind of address I thought they would. they sent us an email on their views. second, (as expected) nobody even considered changing their minds whatsoever even after seeing all of the signatures on all 8 marijuana legalization petitions that made it past 5000 signatures. not ONLY this, but for every response they have to all of the petitions, they show no effort whatsoever at changing ANY of their policies. so at what point do you guys want to start changing our country? because this is complete horse shit and im tired of being pushed around by our government that doesnt help anybody but the corporate owners who are sponsoring these politicians.
if you havent done anything to help change our government in anyway (clicking a button on a website to put your name down on a virtual piece of paper doesnt count) then quit your fucking complaining. go do something about it. stop posting highdeas saying 'when weeds legalized' and go do something to legalize it.

my plans? i say the first saturday of every month, we should ALL gather in D.C. and protest. dont do anything illegal their because then they have a right to arrest us. a peaceful protest. cant make it to D.C.? then protest in a big city near you. but jesus christ lets do something because sitting around and waiting for other people to do something to solve our problems (which is what most of us are doing currently) wont change anything as you can see

I actually have chronic bronchitis from smoking weed...
the ONLY time i ever need my inhaler is when im done smoking...
and i only vape... even vaping now with the volcano gives me
extreme wheezing and coughing fits... to the point that i NEED
an albuterol inhalant...
just letting you know... if i didnt have an inhaler or a nebulizer
giving me corticosteroids for my lungs...
I would most definitely be in the ER.

the same period of time... and she never needs my inhaler...

just wanted to say...
look at the occupy movements dude. youve got a shitload of people getting arrested all the time around the country, just for protesting peacefully.
i dont wanna be a debbie downer, cuz OBVIOUSLY i want weed legalized, but how do you expect to hold a peaceful protest in dc when youve got people getting arrested for holding signs in their hometowns at this very moment?
when people start speaking the truth and fighting for what they want, the people get shut down and oppressed. and it barely makes the headlines because its trying to be kept QUIET.
a peaceful protest isnt going to solve anything- and this is coming from someone who has occupied and joined the movement.
what we NEED (since they wont listen to peaceful protesters) is a revolution. and by that i mean something completely and utterly beyond the definition of peaceful...
if we want our voices heard, we need them to be forcefully heard, because clearly trying to remain peaceful for 2 to 3 months doesnt do jack shit except get innocent civilians arrested for doing nothing.
were living under a totalitarian regime. think about that concept, then get back at me. the system we are living under fits the definition for totalitarianism. like i said, protests will do nothing. then again, protests are a start, because theyre better than nothing...
and just to clarify, youre a good dude gizmodo. youre an intellectual, and i respect that. all im saying is peacefulness wont work. peace was my first option, and it has clearly failed when it comes to the occupy movements thus far. if shit doesnt change with occupy in the coming months, then we can use that movement as an example that peaceful protests clearly dont work. this means that if we try to organize a peaceful protest for weed, we will get shut down. we should manage our time better and organize in a more rebellious fashion if we want to see results. however this is just my opinion...
peace

WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE FAN AINT GONA B NO CREDIT, besides if the government dont pay its bills y the fuck should we pay ours? nahhh man fuck that shit this game is rigged, the rich get richer and poor get poorer. standing around with cardbord signs covered with empty ideas is not going to solve this one. blood is the only way out, the time for peacefull protest ended when the people we seek to overthro tell you when you have rights what rights you have and when they can take them away

smokeyfish Says:

the sickest part of it all is nothing has ben done yet, we live in a world controlled by other people, no diffrent from you and me. yet these people get to decide the way your aloud to live. if you think that their minds are going to be swayed by waving around signs and holding "peacefull ground" you might as well conform. the only way a significant change can be made is by force, brutal force. the powers that be are not going to turn over controll, it must be taken. and this world will remain just as it is untill revolution.

Honestly though, you're not really doing anything either by saying we should all gather together. You know for a fact no one is going to...First of all, you said we should just meet at DC. You realize most people on this site are in high school and can't just fly to Washington DC on the weekend. And you didn't give a time, or a meeting place or anything. So really you're mad at people for not taking action when you're actually not taking action at all. If you want to actually start a serious petition then talk to people in person because you're not gonna start one over Highdeas. People sign internet petitions because they don't have to actually do anything besides going to a website and clicking a button. Everyone says they want to go sit out side the White House and shit but no one's going to do it. No offense, but the people that usually make Highdeas about starting a protest are usually the people that do the least about it. I highly doubt people sitting around would make the government just want to automatically legalize weed. Just wait it out. In the future it'll become legal. Truthfully, just enjoy it while it's illegal now. You know for a fact in the future kids are gonna think anyone who smoked when it was illegal is a fuckin baller.

I signed that damn petition too, and I'm pretty sure the science behind their "study" was from a grass roots company that has nothing more than a professional looking website. That email back from them pissed me off!! every accusation that they proposed against marijuana was irrelevant. It said it "was associated with addiction" are you fucking kidding me? tobacco, alcohol isn't? I am pretty sure they are scared that since marijuana actually brings forth outside of the box thinking that it could actually change the way the country works FOR THE BETTER, but the greedy bastards up there in congress don't want a change because they like the way they can and have manipulated the system for their own benefits. I'm fucking done with this shit. I'm so pissed off, we actually attempt in a well mannered effort to actually work as a democracy and get we the people's vote, and doing so we get minimally 15,000 more votes on this petition than any other petition that was on that website and yet it gets struck down for nonsensical reasons. In conclusion, this is no longer democracy, and I fucking hate our government the way it is now. It goes completely against what our fore fathers who created our initial government wanted. You try things the nice way and it gets nowhere. the only way to make a difference is forcefully and you go to jail for that one, so oppression scratches the legalization out. Very bad system. I'm not being unpatriotic I love my country but its ridiculous to live behind the farce term democracy if your not one. just to toss in another idea. I don't smoke cigarettes but they have gone up tremendously in price, and we get a lot of tax from these things, eventually people won't be able to afford it, so maybe at that point when our economy gets hit hard by the price increase of these things thus lowering tax revenue from them, maybe at that point marijuana will be made the alternative of course they have nothing in common besides smoke. I think it will only be legalized when there is a dire need for marijuana legalization. until then we are all stuck with our thumbs up our asses because you can't change anything obviously unless every single person in america stands up and screams we will legalize it or we will forcefully change our government. which will never happen because we can't get everyone together on the idea of legalization. so our effort is futile. fuck..

Wed, 12/07/2011 - 12:11pm

If you really think about our fore fathers who created this country, they also were fucked in the head. They were racists sexists dick holes. We had to change our constitution to end slavery AND let women vote? The government we see today is no better than our fore fathers in the day.

Sidenote; my captcha question is :Should marijuana be legalized? hahah.

As I read this two words came to mind. Civil Disobedience. I think that can include smoking in front of the white house, especially those with medical cards because those are valid in D.C.
Anyways as long as we're not starting any riots and we're chilling back toking ourselves away then I doubt there gonna do anything other than think "fuck we need to do something to get these stoners off our lawn." ANd I'm sure this will make news and media means attention and attention means action.

i like the thought of civil disobedience. it also wouldn't hurt to write letters and call congresspeople demanding that the petitions be put through as this is not constitional what they are doing. we need to get organized.revolution is a nice thought, though certainly extrememe, we have not even exhausted all of our peaceful options yet. protesting at this point would just get marijuana legalization thrown in with the 99% percent protests and then they could shut us both down quietly, we'd be giving them the second bird for their one stone. as mentioned earlier, smoking outside the whitehouse, or other such displays would be more useful than an actual protest with signs and demands and shouting people, that just gets people who are opposed all riled up to fight back

I think there are a lot of problems here, most that we cant necessarily do much about because our government is so corrupt when it comes to marijuana, but I do have to say that 5,000 signatures isn't a lot. If you wanted to make a substantial impact it's going to take a lot more than 5,000 signatures.

yo violence arent the answer do u all hear what u talkin about? ur saying u can take on the UNITED STATES FUCKING ARMY. dont wanna be a narc or crushin ur hopes or anything but if a individual group of stoners went up against the highly trained and well funded superpower of the world ur gonna be dying for nothing. its punk kids who talk big and say their gonna do shit about legalizing weed when they dont see why its better illegal. inflation and laws will still make legal weed shit cause itll still be illegal to sell on the streets just like cigarettes and alcohol u cant just walk into a convenience store and buy a pack of smokes then walk out front and start sellin them the same will go for weed just because its legal doesnt mean ur gonna be safe from being arrested for it they'll just find a way to warp the rules in thier favour. yeah alot of people go to jail for it but thts because their stupid with it if u got some personal and a bong in ur house no cop in their right minds gonna charge u for it its a waste of time they'll just throw away the weed and make u smash ur bong. i wanna be able to walk down the street tokin away on my bong just as much as everyone else but its not worth it for all the restrictions and taxes tht would come with it and i would rather spend my tine supporting a cause thats gonna largly alter the way people get to live like those in africa and south america instead of wasting my time worrying about something tht would just make my life a little easier
