people believe that because you do a good deed, something good will happen to you and vice versa. this is somewhat true, however, it isn't because of some powerful energy that believes the world shall be balanced, but rather the ripple effect...let me briefly explain:

let's say you do some good deed to a random person. they will take notice and more than likely, they will do a good deed for a different person. this is a chain effect and the chances of it that one good deed coming back to you are slim.

now lets say you did multiple good deeds to random people. the chances are higher that one of those chains of good deeds will come back your way, thus the people who believe in karma live life in a more positive way, do more good deeds, and have a better chance of receiving a nice gesture in return.

people will also take not on the actions of said person and realize that if anybody deserved a good deed, it would be him/her. this will take place of the chain of good deeds that never reached to you.

this has the same effect for debby downers they will create more negative chains rather than positive chains in the world, therefore receiving more negative gestures and nobody will feel they deserve a good deed. instead, people would think that they deserve only the worst.

this is what we call karma

Positivity spreads like fucking wildfire. Think, each person you do something good for is likely to the same for others. That one person you influenced could potentially influence MANY others and on and on... now think if you practiced good deeds every chance you got.. everyday, every person you came in contact with.... If, MANY people practiced this... now that would be really cool.

100% the truth. One time, my mom and I went to chick fil a and we randomly paid for our meals and the meals of the car behind us. The next time we came through the drive thru a week or so later, the lady at the window who remembered us from that night, said the next 15 cars did the same thing. Since they got their meal for free, they passed on the good deed. Positivity truly does breed positivity.

also, i think you can feel good just for doing something good
so in that way, karma rewards your spirit instantaneously

this is a very good explanation for it, however....HOWEVER?!?!ohhh not again?......anyways hear me out, I truly believe that something so much more profound is balancing this world. If you look at the world from a different perspective, it really is balanced by the good and the evil, love and hate, negative and the positive, the ying and yang, science and spirituality, dicks and mofogin vaginas, etc...it goes on forever....You can't possibly tell me all that shit's a coincidence.

You had the right idea, but you gotta admit, your theory's too simple to be true. Fact the matter is, nothing in this world is actually simple, other than Rob dyrdek's career. We're still light years away from being able to explain even just one brick of nature's complexity. Lights years, or a hit of DMT. Pshh...Well, the key is trying to think of the most complicated explanations and trying to make sense of it through our nature's logicality, not just by science, but also spirituality.

You do good deeds to random people over many successive reincarnations. That's karma, and that's only the scale at which we understand it. People can be reborn as animals or gods, on other planets.

That's at the extreme end of the scale, though. Think of it like physics. Weird stuff happens in quantum mechanics and there may be other universes inside black holes--our own universe may be inside a black hole of another universe. We don't have to think about that stuff in your daily lives, though. Newtonian physics works fine for most of us. Relativity is weird enough for strange scenarios to fill 50 years of movie and television programming.

It's the same in religion, which merely examines another dimension of the cosmos and uses different tools. Most of us don't need to think about reincarnation or gods.

The fundamental nature of karma is cause and effect. You do things, things happen. Actions have consequences. Actions determine who you are as synapses are connected in your brain, conditioning learned responses to external stimuli.

Realizing that and learning to intercede in the process, to act without generating karma, is the goal of spiritual practice. Any spiritual teaching about karma is a pointer in getting one to realize that--that we are standing in the stream of time, the flow of cause and effect.

Dude this rule of karma is exactly what I've lived my life by for the last three years. It's just pragmatic to believe in karma. It works too.
