I think it would be awesome to get a group of 10 - 420 friends in on one project.. that if successful would make you all very rich.

The majority of the time you get to just hang out with each other, talk about project plans and smoke some bud.
But every month you need to put in a week of serious work, building, phone calls, getting shit done.
Every second month, that week is actually a shared regular paying job to make money for you all to live on. You can do some pretty shitty jobs that pay well if you only do it 1 week bimonthly.

The system would have to be worked out that if 1 project fails and makes nothing it doesn't crumble... you can just pick up the next project... and with that many highdeas floating around you could come up with amazing world changing ideas (it doesn't all have to be about money). Or once you make your first fortune you can focus more manpower on the projects and none on the paid support jobs... pumping out ideas that change the world but aren't profitable enough for major corps to care about.

It could be a self sustained system... your system.

The job/project/business is whatever your creativity can come up with. Anything you're really interested in, something you wouldn't mind spending your time doing... but also something you can't do while you have a "real job" and on your own.
It's about turning highdeas in to reality.
Start small with micro businesses to set up the funds for bigger stuff...

All your friends wanna open a stoner's paradise restaurant? Start making food to sell at markets, save up for a food van... save up for a shop front... once the restaurant is up and running maybe you all want to open a build-your-own-bong workshop... staff up the restaurant and focus on the workshop.. if it's successful you now have two businesses bringing money for the team, build them up.. or start another project...
If a business fails then the system should still be able to support you all.

Then if you start a few businesses with your profitable ideas, then you can move on to passion and/or charity projects.

It's a great idea in a perfect world but this is reality. How/Who would fund the start-up of this company? No one with half a brain because all it would be is luck if this actually turned out successful. I applaud your idea but I don't have faith in a successful start-up of this company because logically speaking there is no reason for anyone to fund this except in a perfect world which does not exist.

You start from the ground up. This isn't just an easy way out, it's a long process.
Everyone who wants to get involved could bring funds to the table if that specific project needs an initial set up cost and they are able.
The 1 shared job will be to supply everyone with the food and supplies to keep you surviving while you build the business up. (though after reassessing everyone should work the regular job 1 week a month not every second month)
This system isn't for setting up multinational businesses or manufacturing factories. But small local endeavours that are completely powered by the people in the team.

As I said in my earlier reply above, if you want to open a restaurant... you start by selling food at markets, team saves up money for a lease on a shop front, team builds furniture, decorates and staff the cafe/restaurant, the set up costs of that restaurant is covered by the markets.. so you do the markets for as long as it takes to save.

Relying on somebody else to fund it would just be part of the current system. The point of this new suggestion is to get away from this reliance on others/the system.

For this system to be most effective everyone would be better off sharing accommodation to keep living costs down and enabling brain storming at all times.

Ok so it's likely a stoner commonwealth thing. You would all do jobs like cleaning motel rooms and save up money for the ideas you've had. Cleaning motel rooms is just an example. Your would do odd jobs. It's a good idea on paper but there are probably not many willing to share money freely.

so, a socialist/communist society of stoners? ideal communism sounds nice, but in practice, it never works out the way you want it too (several examples in the world).

what I pretty much got out of this is Jersey Shore...A light group of friends get together and do menial work together to get by and have some fun...but with the added idea of trying to make something of yourselves from inventing things or starting ideas with a side cache of funds you store away instead of getting wasted and arrested every weekend.
