DaSein Says:

I assume that you by nature, you mean marijuana (and to be fair, we may include illegal substances [natural] of a greater category). However, you have not provided any definition of freedom. Though you, as a part of the physical world, are subject and subordinate to the natural law therein, there are otherwise no constraints imposed upon you by nature. In this sense, you retain as much freedom as you are naturally endowed. Freedom in civil society is of course different. As members of this society you trade in some of your natural freedoms for certain mutually conferred benefits that, in the state of nature, were not available to you. Essentially, you enter into a covenant with the state, in which law and justice [not moral justice], are established. This was not a personal choice of yours, and with this I sympathize. However, it is this covenant which determines that which is legal and that which is illegal. Though the laws of the state may be mutually justified (inasmuch as the United States Constitution is in form [though not necessarily in practice], a pure representation of liberal ideology), they are nonetheless distinguished from one another. For instance, one's capacity to obey traffic laws doesn't interfere with their capacity not to murder. And though marijuana and dandelions are as much equal representations of 'nature' as obedience of traffic laws and not murdering are equal representations of the kind of liberal ideology practiced in the United States, they are nonetheless distinguished from one another; marijuana is not dandelions (which are in fact, perfectly legal). In the same way, freedom to smoke marijuana, is distinct from freedom of speech.

Therefor, unless you disagree with any of the above premises, nature is not illegal, and freedom does in fact still exist.

Freedom does, and always has existed in the mind. It's a concept, only made reality by your luck of living. Technically, your free to call your dealer, grab a dub, head somewhere chill and spark up any god damn time you'd like. See the establishment as the enemy 24/7 and no longer will things of this nature bother you. The fact that they have outlawed a plant is so beyond fathoming, that yes, do not try to fathom.
