What do they see? Say they've been blind since birth - they've never really "seen" anything. They don't know what anything looks like. They can feel it, but by having nothing to compare the object to, they can't make out what it must look like. so what do they see in their dreams? CAN they see in their dreams????! can someone who knows a blind person pretty well help me out on this one? it's so interesting, but yet, I do not have the gull to ask a blind person such things.

shit's nuts though.

I think about this all the time. Like how do you describe colors to a blind person.

I've never thought about that.. But thats hella interesting dude.. That would be crazy if in their dreams they saw everything of how THEY imagine things to be. They put their hearing and scents together and what if like they interpreted humans to be some crazy looking thing.. And dogs we're really beasts.. Omg a blind person will never know what a vagina looks like

it's not easy to make the jump from humans and animals to vaginas. Bravo. But yeah, I mean they can think we look like anything, but like I said, what do they have to compare it to? They've never seen ANYTHING, so what could ANYTHING to them look like? shit's nuts.

Think about it like this: have you ever dreamed of having an extra sense or power you've never had (X-Ray vision, telepathy, flight, telekinetic)? I know I've soared all over the place in my dreams. And I think that in the same way that I've experienced in a dream something I never have before, so can a blind person see in a dream.

According to this it seems like they don't see images if they were born blind or before age 5 but they do feel sounds and textures as Rod-O was saying. Really interesting thought man.

Seeing is perceiving, and blind people have no perception of sight, therefore they are incapable of seeing.

what you physically see with your eyes is the most irrelevant factor of perception

i asked a woman i know who is blind, she lost her sight after a few years but here's what she said:

Yes, blind people do dream. What they see in their dreams depends on how much they could ever see. If someone has been totally blind since birth, they only have auditory dreams. If someone such as I, has had a measure of sight, then that person dreams with that measure of sight. I still dream as though I can see, colors included. For people I've met since, their faces are just blurs or how I imagine they look. To me, someone like my mother looks forever 30.

There is a theory out there that has been studied and verified- Blind people actually dream of colored "blobs" that they imagine through sounds and their other senses. Essentially, they sometimes dream of things their brain has manifested that is not conceivable/our brain would accept because we see things they cannot, and so can they.

Crazy right? Sorry if its hard to follow, im really high lolol

Never underestimate the power of the mind. From what ive learned in life is that imagination is usually Bette r than the real thing

Tue, 02/18/2014 - 9:31pm

Im pretty sure they dream in sounds and smells and things theyve felt like emotional or physical

yo i just learned dis shit in psychology class,, if youve been blind since youre born you will only dream sounds, familiar sounds and never images or colors,, and if u got blind later on in life you will only dream shit youve seen before like when you could actually see,,,damn i made an account just to answer dis question xD fuckn stoned shit

Maybe someone who was blind from birth, if blind people do dream in colored blobs, maybe they can dream in colors we can't even see or imagine. because we see in color we know all the colors visible to the human eye, but maybe someone who is blinds brain can create and imagine colors that we can't. they just wouldn't be able to describe them to us because they have nothing for reference

and then think of how it may vary from person to person..
