I was watching a documentary on the science channel and they said if the sun gets to be 2x bigger/stronger, ice underneath the ground will melt and mars will have water. Thus, making it sustainable for life. What if one day in the future we do have to leave our planet for whatever reason. If we lived on mars, how would countries be divided? We would literally have to start from scratch, build a whole new world. Would we try and make it look like our old earth? This is blowing my mind right now

Well, there's a non-profit organization called Mars One that's currently accepting applications from people of all ages to be sent over to Mars to begin colonizing it, so this could end up being a thing in the distant future.

If we do, I say start with a whole new blueprint. The pattern we're in on earth is far from perfect.

It will end up the same, unless the majority of people miraculously become much more cognizant that what they are doing on earth clearly isn't working. Unfortunately, it's unlikely anyway, because the people with the money over here will be the people with the money over there. Greed is the root of all evil, and greed comes from having $ to begin with.

They would probably only take the elite people in higher echelons of society. Scary to think about.

I think that's all dumb. We're very delicate creatures sustained in the perfect balance of earth and it's environment. To move somewhere else and mimic what earth gives us is just improbable. I think the human race was doomed the moment we tried keeping those that should've died, alive. Just added bad genes to the gene pool. All we can do is take care of what we got
