Does anyone else ever feel like there is a powerful flow that we all sort of seem to be riding? The best example I can give is your mood. Some days you wake up brighter than a set of gold roller skates on a sunny day.. and almost no matter what it just seems like you have energy and purpose and are really alive. On other days, or hideaway days, you just feel like staying at home in bed all day. You're not feeling especially social or outgoing.
Why??
I mean really the only explanation I've ever heard is "That's just how life goes".You're up sometimes and down others, but it's something that I don't have control over. Even if you can quiet down the noise of stress, or just general thought noise and simply relax, it seems like an exterior phenomenon. Like there's this big wave we're all inside of; or is inside all of us, and it's endless.
I think achieving happiness is a form of thinking we can control this phenomenon, but rich/poor/married/unmarried/hugh hefner'd/movie star/ it doesn't matter. Everyone has good and bad days. Now, my point in all this is that wouldn't you think if you could convince yourself that you've achieved something worthwhile, you have enough money, and have good people around you; then you could be content. All the time.
That's not to say become stagnant and don't try to achieve; or to resign yourself to something for a mere lack of worth from an intrapersonal standpoint, but why should we experience a negative mindset? Because lives are all relative to You. And until, from the standpoint of "I", we all acknowledge that the only thing we really Do have is this moment: Now; we will never be free.
This is the teaching of Buddha, Jesus, or just about any other inspirational figure in history. There are people who look at commonalities between people to connect with them, what they DO have; instead of the always looking at what they DON'T have. What gaps will never be filled. What they will never have or accomplish. And I think it is that distinction at the root, that separates the people many of us view as exceptional human beings from the ones we don't.
Have a solid ride on the whims of The Great Trickster ;) Good Luck.

Well said.. some days I even get the feeling where everyone rides that same wave. Notice on Mondays how gloomy and tired everyone is, regardless of the weekend . We all directly effect one each other, "Because lives are all relative to You."
I strongly agree with your last paragraph (From the way I read and interpreted it as). The connections between humans has been blurred out by material possessions. It creates a hierarchical caste system where worth is money.
In an ideal world we can live harmoniuous and interconnected within the whims of The Great Trickster
Yeah it does seem that way. It's an interesting topic..
But in the ideal world we could all live harmoniously and interconnected to be sure.
What if moods are a form of energy and they flow from the universe, affecting random lifeforms along the way?
I've entertained that idea, but I haven't come to a decision yet. It would seem to make sense though wouldn't it?
On an abstract level that I don't fully understand yet and maybe never will.
I never thought about that, but it makes perfect sense. Similar to how the tides are affected by the sun and moon, maybe our moods are similarly just shifts of universal energy coming and changing 2-4 times a day. That idea should definitely be explored further. Maybe our mood literally is affected by the tide. The crashing surf at a beach releases negative ions which have been known to lighten moods and aid in the treatment of depression. Maybe as the tide rises, more ions are released and travel inland.
This is the third or fourth highdea of yours I've read that talks about a great change that's happening, and the connectedness of human beings. I believe an earlier one you talked about how lately everyone has been moving towards a singularity point. And this highdea also talks about that but from a different angle and on a different sub topic.
Keep going man, I think daily you are getting closer and closer to unlocking something. I don't know how to describe it, but I have a feeling you know exactly what I'm talking about. So keep pondering, keep asking yourself questions, and keep creating answers. I truly believe that very soon yo
u will reach a conclusion that will blow the world away. I can just feel it, and since we are all connected somehow, I have a feeling that you can feel it too.
A lot of us have been having that same feeling. The more I look at society, and my attempts at watching the news and keeping up with current events, I'm feeling a turning in the tide if you will. Bongchief has a beautiful talent with sculpting the words to describe that feeling
Maybe I'm just crazy, but I feel a new enlightenment approaching. A new era of human thinking. More and more people are starting to wake up and break out of societies shell, thinking outside the box, questioning religion, experimenting, learning. People all across the world are protesting and revolting against the norms of the old. Occupy Wall Street is a step for us, we need to be taking to the streets for marijuana legalization (one of the greatest injustices against civil liberties in our time)
Thanks a lot guys, it's great to know you feel the same way.. and in a response to both of you I do have the same feeling. What I'm trying to decide is whether it's a genuine sensation, or something I feel because I both want change and due in part to the hype surrounding this upcoming year 2012; but that being said I really do think it's genuine. Call it whatever you want, there is something happening. I can't really term it, but like you both mentioned I do try.
By definition though, the singularity; one of the postulated points some like Ray Kurzweil argue we are heading towards, is by definition incomprehensible to our current understanding. It is defined as "a point in the development of a civilization at which technological progress accelerates beyond the ability of present-day humans to fully comprehend or predict."
Now whether or not it will be "technological" remains to be seen, but I think once something reaches a state of sufficient complexity you can call it magic, spiritual/religious, a biological leap, or a bunch of other terms that basically mean something that completely defies explanation, as well as our current model of understanding. Think the iPod shown to Cave Men. I think that's the most likely direction we're going though.
But I believe open-mindedness and trying to think divergently are the first steps.
Honesty, I think that singularity has occurred with the internet already, we are becoming a hive mind that emphasizes the rights of individuals, and if we developed A.I. the capabilities, like you quoted, totally indescribable.
I am right here with you guys. You are definitely on to something BongChief, I think we all are. The thoughts and ideas that I see weave in and out of every individual's timeline is amazing. I believe that humanity is headed for a breaking point. Like Yoinkie said, keep asking these questions and keep coming up with answers and soon enough, we'll all have a solution.
Damn dude this just got me. I've been thinking a lot lately about selfishness and not on a normal scale but in the sense that every consciousness relates any and all information to how it effects itself. I hope you do find the answer because if not, I don't think we'll find that common ground on our own. Its like without the change you see, we're all trapped in our own minds, unable to break some barrier to connect with another human in a completely unselfish way.
I'm glad you connected with it. Answers of the mind are a tricky thing though, because the answer itself may very well be that there is no answer. Or that seeking one shouldn't be our primary focus. But I feel a growing sense of anticipation, I'm just trying to figure out Why I feel that way. What am I anticipating? It's not really anxiety either.. it's more akin to the mental stalling you get right before you understand something. Like I have the pieces of the puzzle, but I'm trying to arrange them in the correct way. So hopefully someone can break the barrier you mentioned, the more people that try the better chance we have to connect.
Have you ever heard of Terence McKenna's novelty theory? I personally have trouble subscribing to it but the more I hear from you, the more it makes sense. He predicted Dec 21 2012 to be the culmination of human advancement. A spiral of novel ideas ever tightening to a singularity. 30,000 years ago, we learned how to farm. 350 years ago, we learned how to mass-produce machines. About 50 years ago, we learned how to build computers. The spiral is tightening. This next year could bring about many more life altering innovations culminating in a transcendence of the collective mind at that singularity point.
--edit--
I now see you already have heard about variations of this as evidence in your response to philosobong. It's still something to take note of though
Yeh I know what you mean.. You mentioned it's an occurrence you don't have much control over like a wave? I remember something a bum told me that I thought kind of interesting.. basically he was saying considering how much of our own body is water, it would stand to reason the changes in the tide would also affect us as well. I don't know how credible that theory is but I know the moon and position of constellations in relation to Earth has some effect on us. ( I have no idea if that is specifically true, just the best way I can describe it right now, ha) From my experience though, it seems like the natural flow, the tide comes in, waves build and build until they reach a breaking point and come crashing to shore... and then, the tide is taken back out, drawing back everything with it back into the ocean. When the wave breaks and crashes then recedes is when I have to be most conscious of where my mind is at and the nature of my thoughts and emotions because it seems negativity and unproductiveness feeds on that certain state of mind.. and when that happens it's soo difficult to bring yourself back to the surface. But those times when the wave is ever building reaching its peak, I feel like I'm on top of the world, and I believe I can influence or do or create anything I desire.. and usually, I can. There's so many other things I'm leaving out that go with both of the extremes.. but Idk I guess in short, I think as long as there there is energy, we will be effected by it somehow.
" There are people who look at commonalities between people to connect with them" < This, is what we lack, the absence of this mentality is what holds us back as a human race =/
Onn that note, enjoy some lovely tunage as you contemplate where this feeling may take you =)

many people underestimate the power of the full and new moons and the significance of the apex of orbit where it changes direction to and from being in-line with the sun.

achieving happiness is a hard way of thinking for some people. Myself , it's extremely hard to control my happiness and my mindset. It's hard to control my random depression ,now i get what you are saying about how happiness is a form of thinking. But when your mind plays tricks on you it's hard to control everything.
Everyone, please, look up the law of attraction. What you are all talking about is as real as you perceive it to be.
If your subscribed to Netflix check out pyramid code and 2012: an awakening. It discusses the ancient theory of life, astrology, etc everything in general being in cycles. The Maya believed every day in a 260 period had a distinct energy and also is connected to the astrological point on the day of your birth. Believe me everyone here will be"awakened" by these two programs, it almost sums up my 12 years of reach on ancient history, civilizations & culture as well as the true chronology of ancient events.
