Pink Floyd is great, but not even close to The Beatles. Pink Floyd is top 5 for sure though.

Led zeppelin.. And the beatles are NOT overrated... Like at all.

Thu, 10/27/2011 - 12:49pm

Yes they are. Pink floyd, zeppelin, and velvet underground have contributed much more immensely to music than the beatles. The beatles were hypocritical, cocky individuals that only told the people what they wanted to hear.

N.I.B. Says:

Oh did I mention that sabbath created the metal genre?

Thu, 10/27/2011 - 7:45pm

Going to have to disagree. Iron butterfly created it, sabbath expanded it. Nevertheless, they are still easily one of the greats.

Thu, 10/27/2011 - 9:35pm
N.I.B. Says:

Perhaps, but they seem more psycadelic rock but Sabbath made doom, witch later mixed with rock and even more drugs than before, thus the 80's metal scene was born, after about 10 years.

Eitherway, listen to the Wizard.

Thu, 10/27/2011 - 11:15pm

Dude the wizard is the shit. Wanna hear an interesting fact? Rumble by link wray was considered the first hard rock song. It just features a simple riff without lyrics, but was banned on many radio stations due to the raw sound of the guitar. Haha

Beach Boys 100%, people forget that they were right there with the beatles at the time. They were also each others favorite bands, pushing each other to new heights and levels of musical experimentation that remain unmatched to this day. The fact that someone near my age even knows what pet sounds is, astounds me. Thank you friend, you made my day, and further justified my infatuation with (to me) the greatest band ever. I implore all stoners to listen, really listen, to any song off of pet sounds, if you haven't before, it will likely shed new light on a band many think of as just surfin', cars and babes.

Wed, 10/26/2011 - 1:47pm

pet sounds was their biggest experiment sure, but the beatles were experimenting on rubber soul, revolver, sgt peppers, white album, abbey road, let it be

imadildo Says:

Yeah, I don't dig the beach boys but they inspired the beatles (and charlie manson) and are a huge part of musical history. But surfing, cars, and babes would be enough for me.
