if you really think about it "TIME" is just an insignificant thing humans made up to keep track of things...our "TIME" means absolutely nothing to the planet...the planet runs on it's own clock

But what is Time but the perception of reality? Because clearly the duality of perception is inverse with time. When you focus on what your doing time flies by which to most is having fun. However when you focus on time then, time seems to slow down but when in reality it hasn't. Fuck yeah.

What is reality? Reality is simply what we believe to be true. Even if theres no real evidence. Cant prove a damn thing in this world cuz people can deny it all they want. Closest thing I came to proving anything is existence. For to deny existence you must exist.

Time is a created tool for reference. Time is the recognition of movement as it is captured by our linear sense of memory . Reality exists in a timeless state until it is interpreted and contributed to our collection of memories, creating a wake of stimulation references which creates the illusion of past, which leads to the assumption we are moving through "time", but in reality we are confined to the transformation of the present, . The 4th dimension is movement. So the 4th dimension to us is perceived as time. The question should then be, what is movement? Its this phenomena of perception where things zoom and shrink and twist around our domes of interpretation...but what exactly is "movement" what was the first thing that ever "moved" in the universe? What force is behind the progression of reality causing it to continuously transform?

Reality is independent from our perception of it. Not to be confused with "our reality" which is merely our perception of true reality. Ever here of Plato's cave? That's what it's about. Study some metaphysics. It's freakin nuts.

Aaaaand heres my explanation: so time is perceived by the brain. This has been proven because of a man who had a brain tumor and felt like everything was flying by. Time is a sense of ours. Sometimes you might find that you knew exactly what the time was without looking for a while. This happens because your brain has a clock that its set on. Time is actually the flow of space. Imagine a sphere. This sphere is what some call a bubble universe. I believe that in each universe there is a circular plane that embodies each moment in time. Our brain allows us to move through these planes and initiating a small and insignificant timeline. You know how if someone says "do you smell that?" You smell whatever they are referring to very quickly. You didnt smell it before this though. You were not made aware to the smell until you thought to focus on your sense of smell. If you follow a rythmic time or listen to a clock you might experience time more slowly because you are aware of it. You dont pay attention to time unless you are made aware of it! Watch the episode of through the wormhole with morgan Freeman titled time

Thu, 09/05/2013 - 10:27am

Fun fact: weed affects the part of the brain that controls time perception which is what causes us to experience time more slowly when we are high!

Damn this is so true. Things tend to slow down when you smoke. Which makes it an awesome thing to do when your life is so fast paced and hectic. Its awesome to just sit back and enjoy the simple things in life and smoke a joint.

Tue, 09/03/2013 - 8:02pm

Lets sum this up...."your" perception...is "your" reality...

Tue, 09/03/2013 - 11:36pm

time is something that is hard to comprehend i mean it seems that the bigger you are the longer you live im not talking about pepole in genral all things in this known univirse eg we live for 80 odd years with excptions like the guy tht lived to 123 or something like that then u go smaller to dogs and cats 15 odd years to bugs that only live for a few days even less to smaller again to germs that only live for like 20 seconds to our planet that has been here for 4 billion years give or take to even bigger like the universe that has been here for 15 odd billion years so the bigger you are the longer you live but to each one of us germs to people it seems normal to us

i concur on the whole linear time is an illusion thing but our measurement of it makes sense, we did base it around the "planet's clock" .. with the months and years and all that shit.

Wed, 09/04/2013 - 1:33pm

Time has changed so much throughout history which only proves that "Time" is an illusion. There use to be 360 days in one year but then some asshole decided to change it to 365 because the seasons didn't match up. Retarded yes. Yet another example is that women were married off at 15 to 30 year old men in most cultures and considered a "woman". Our society has taken this illusion of "time" too far. Why should we have to wait until we're 21 to drink? Why should we not get our club cards until we're 18? Why can't I date a 22 year old? There are 525,600 minutes in a year but how do you measure that? In day lights? In sunsets? In midnights? In cups of coffee? In inches? In miles? In laughter? In love? There is no way to prove it to be 100% correct. True time does keep everything from happening at once in theory but not in reality.

Thu, 09/05/2013 - 4:56am

Ahhhhh nigga made a "Rent" reference.

Thu, 09/05/2013 - 1:58pm

Lol that's not time man that's the measurement of time! Time is like distance it is a variable we witness that we developed a system to measure it with. Time is present in your reality but does not get affected by changes in the measure of it.

Our time is directly related to this planet and our solar system. If we were on another planet our time would be directly related to that one. This planet does have it's own clock and its what we use. Time is a scientific reality with known, observed traits. For example, time travels at a different rate on the moon then it does on earth. The GPS satellites have to be constantly updated to take into account the different rates of time in space. Technically, time travels slower the closer it gets to the nearest source of gravity.

Time is as real as matter and energy. It's just more difficult to quantify into a scientific definition. People who don't understand Einsteins theory of relativity tend to assume that time is not real; just a human concept designed to measure moments.

THANK YOU. Einstein is the shit man. Spacetime is some freaky shit and I love learning about it! People need to learn this! Time is, in my opinion, an essential part of the universe and that there is actually a beginning and end of the universe. Whose to say that beginning and end arent the same thing? What if this very moment in time is the beginning of the universe that ended the moment before it? In effect you can have something end and re-begin again to cause the effect of infinity.

Actually, time does exist; Einstein proved it with his theory of special relativity. It was said above that all things are happening at once, and that is true, but we perceive only one reality as a sequence of events because we are not 3 dimensional beings; time is a dimension that we travel through that is directly connected to the fabric of space. That's why there's a space-time continuum, and why traveling really fast changes the passage of time. If you want to learn about time, look up "Imagining the 10th dimension" on youtube; you won't regret it.

I am adding u because i just made a similar comment. and I love this youtube channel. Though u must have an open mind to get it. I tried explaining it to my closed minded friend about the 0th dimension, you know, which contains practically everything. He insists that 0 is nothing more but the absence of a value.

i also like how everyone went on an intellectual debate when this guy said the planet runs on its own time when our clocks are based off of its orbit as best we could get them. just saying.

sorry i was trying to say that he said time is insignificant and the planet runs on its own clock, which sounds really stupid because are time and clocks are based off the planets. but when ii went to go type it, couldnt remember so i wrote the closest thing to what i thought it was.

Wed, 09/11/2013 - 12:00pm

Youre right. Thats why einstein devoloped the idea of spacetime to set a ultimate clock for all things.

Time totally exists. Its just not the way we perceive it. Einsteins theory of relativity is based on 2 main aspects: time dialation which states the more you get to the speed of light, the slower time is, and length contraction. In order to have space-time, we must have time

Time is the most logical way to keep track of things. Look how smoothly and mostly seamless our calendar/clocks work. And its based on the Earth's orbit. Of course conventional time has no relevance off the planet tho. It is manmade but its arguably the most impactful invention.. our time and the Earth's time are congruous so if anything, the earth would be like, "Ayy you know wassup."

..But individually, a person's "time" ends when they die so everybody treats time as more precious than the earth n trees n stuff

Mon, 09/30/2013 - 1:29am

If the time doesn't apply to the earth it wouldn't have a clock.
