satan the deceiver sold us a lemon, he offered us god's vision, something he didn't have to give, he couldn't give it to monkeys, all we've gotten out of knowledge of evil is hate and fear and suffering, maybe we weren't ready for it.. or maybe we only wrote a story about how guilty we are about our disobedience because guilt was brand new to us when we learnt it and like any new toy we wanted to play with it, and because we've kept the guilt we still think that the point of the story's that god made a mistake and punished his creation for his mistake, it's kept us confused, it makes more sense if you read it as a story of a god carrying out his plans exactly, told from the perspective of someone who had recently learnt fear
