i was stoned in my college physics class one night and my professor asked almost the same question but one mile an hour under the speed of light. mind was blown, he was an obvious stoner also so he knew i was high and focused the question at me. 10 minutes later he had a 30 foot slinky demontrating waves. best class ever

And if that was possible , the lights wouldn't go anywhere because you are traveling WITH the light.

It's the same as driving and shooting a gun ahead of you. The bullet is already travelling at your speed before you shoot it. So when you shoot it, it is going at that speed plus the velocity of the bullet firing... None of this is based on fact tho lol just what I figure

light doesn't abide by that rule, as far as we know. It always goes slightly less than 3x10^8m/s, depending on the medium its in, regardless of how fast you go.

Assuming it were possible to travel in a car at the speed of light without being a point in space and having infinite mass (which is pretty silly), then when you turned the light on it would be travelling at the same speed as you, so it won't have time to reflect off objects and return to you. That means turning the headlights on wouldn't do anything in your frame of reference (the car).

The whole thing about an bullet firing whilst moving isn't right, because the speed of light is the fastest possible speed, and you're not imparting the same impulse as with a gun.

General relativity is fun! haha.

when youre traveling near the speed of light, time slows down relatively to protect the speed barrier, so nothing ever breaks it. same thing if you were in a train moving .999999% the speed of light, what would happen if you ran forward in the train? time is slowed to a crawl so youre actually moving slowly

Time slows down as you approach the speed of light (if I'm not mistaken) So basically it's not possible to stop time completely, which is travelling at the speed of light.

That's what current science says. You could be moving at the speed of light but light always passes by at the same speed. Which is what current science says. Which is still a mind fuck. God dammit.

i learned bout this in physics the speed of light is the speed limit of the univerrse if u will and if u did that it would still be going at the speed of light no slower no faster i dontt fully understand it being as baked as i was
