people want what they can't have. the human mentality makes not one bit of sense to us because we can barely comprehend it. we just fill whats empty and empty whats full. whether it be emotional or physical desires and whatever else inbetween. if you think that statement isn't true for everything then you are not thinking in the right scope.
i know how it feels though. back in highschool i thought of myself as a mediocre guy, kinda shy not outgoing much. dated a mediocre girl. and honestly, she was mediocre lol even if i actually wasnt. but anyways after that all the girls who i thought were extremely attractive started talking to me and hitting on me. well not all but a few. and thats a few more than before. then i broke up with her and things just want back to the way they were before. -_- meh, fuck the way our brains work

I also think I heard somewhere that women are more attacted to men who have just recently had sex...not sure how true all that stuff is though. As a married woman though, I get hit on much more now that I'm in wedded bliss =P

It's not just the wedding ring, or the fact you have someone. Men are more confident for sure when they are in a relationship. You're not worried about what that girl thinks, you already have one. And women seeing men with a ring on or being more confident shows signs of prolonged relationships and sexual appeal. There is a book called TAO of Badass that gives a lot of little things women find more attractive about men, you know besides the materialistic things and the rocking bods.

Some scientists did a study on attractiveness. What they found was that as whole people viewed symmetrical faces attractive, as well as average faces OR feminine / masculine faces depending on what hormones were present. But they also found women were less skillful at determining attractive faces of men, and would rate them much higher and more attractive if they saw another girl smiling at them.

In other words, while us dudes don't need a second opinion to know that a girl is hot, girls are always second guessing themselves so they'll only go for it when another girl agrees with them. This explains why taken guys get hit on a lot more.
