I always hear in the media about the economy of USA, Greece, Country X, etc, and I wonder, what is the economy of the whole world? Think of what the combined cost is of EVERYTHING in the world. EVERYTHING that has been produced for the purpose of sale. Trillions upon trillions of dollars, an unimaginable number.

And now realize that we made it all up. All of it. It all amounts to the title of this highDEA.

There is no economy. There are no numbers. There's no one standard way of valuing things. The only standards you should use to value things are your own, and no one else's. I'm tired of being told how to view things, and what's important in the world. I'll choose my own morals, thanks. The world we live in today is so corrupted and purposely made unfair for those who have a good mind set/are just trying to get by. I'm reminded of the lyrics from the song "Nowhere Man", from The Beatles' "Rubber Soul":

"Doesn't have a point of view, knows not where he's going to. Isn't he a bit like you and me?"

Think about that quote. We are ALL the Nowhere Man (or woman :P). We were all condensed in to one singular point in space FOURTEEN BILLION years ago. We were all ONE. We are all one.

The point to all of this is live your life the way you want because no matter how hard you try, you won't make it out alive.

I'll end on this:

"No one knows what's next, but we all do it. Just remember to take it easy for all us sinners out there".

That was my yearbook quote (inspired by the words of George Carlin, and the words of Sam Elliot) and I can't express how much truth there is to it.

Happy smoking y'all, here's to hoping that the posts on this site will improve in the weeks to come. :)

the illusion's useful, without it we'd be back in the caves, if we didn't keep the illusion held up then we'd feel the effect of that in a really real way, so for all of our intents and purposes, our illusions are Real.. that's my perspective

Funny how the US government isn't allowed to touch the economy, but its the main thing they focus on

It is not that the government is not allowed; Government should intervene as little as possible in the direction of economic affairs. So as to avoid the huge deficit that the US has incurred with bailouts of huge banks that have helped to cripple the US economy and has not yet paid back the treasury--nor has any intent to do so! Please watch 'Too Big To Fail'. It is a great documentary on the reasons the economy is in such shambles.

What we need to do is not have countries or boundaries and have everyone on earth work together for common goals. There would be no debt because we would only owe money to ourselves.

TheyCallMeJones. its called inflation. and if we fall of the fiscal cliff, the dollar could be worth even less depending on how we deal with the increased deficit
