Music styles are just different cocktails of mixtures, and the preferences in them are just mood tastes.
Everything is just consumption of frequency and everything is a frequency of consumption.
Thus listening to music is just pausing the universe in certain points.
Holy shit!

there is more to music than frequency... there is melody, harmony, rhythm, tone, form, tempo and dynamics. lyrics also add a lot of variety. if you play a single continuous note and add some pauses you wont hear music.

And what is harmony? It's just a pattern, elements repeating themselves with a certain frequency.
Sound is in itself only a vibration with a certain frequency.
And it doesn't exist objectively, it exists only in our perception, because our mind has evolved in such a way that it recognizes certain consistencies in our surroundings.

Add the theory of strings to this, and your mind will be blown.

ok but things sound different depending on what's vibrating. also the intensity of vibration matters, as there is a big difference between a whisper and a scream for example. also you can hear somebody sing the same words of the same song and you may like it more or less than the original singer singing the same words... why? if the music has the same frequency and vibrations?

Quality determines whether it's music or not? Then in my opinion 70% of the "music" being forced on us doesn't even register as noise. More like the audible smell of scavenger bile

i didn't say quality determines whether it's music or not... why are we even having an argument about what music is?

True, I got in my feelings...my bad. Why does a good singer make you feel a song more than a bad singer? I get you. I'll think about that today.

Because different materials have different qualities, i.e. different resilience, hence different frequency of vibration.
Omg, I can't believe I have to explain 7th grade physics to a grown fucking man.
