How about all of the "stoner girls" stopped calling themselves "stoner girls". Can we just go back to being stoners without gender being involved? I never knew that toking down was a primarily male thing. My smoke circle is made up of a number of people. Guys and girls. And none of the guys think the girls are "one of the bros" because it isn't a masculine thing. It's so stupid that girls are using the fact that they smoke to get attention. Smoking is the greatest, i understand. Smoking shows me the beauty in life that i wouldn't normally see if i wasn't baked out of my mind. It makes everything better and brings people together. But i don't get why it's become such a big deal and girls are doing it to be "cool" and to get attention. That's not what smoking is about. Smoking is about seeing life from a new, refreshing perspective and appreciating the beauty in everyday life. Not about looking cool. So take a hit, sit, relax and let the world see you as a herbal-being as apposed to a gender-specific smoker.

boys make girls that smoke feel special. like they'll make it a point to do it if you haven't noticed. Im from a big smoking family, all my cousins are girls and we all toke every day. I see the way other dudes try to make them seem rare or exotic just cause they smoke, usually they like them. boys compliment girls in attempt to get their own attention.

ill refer to myself as a stoner girl if, and when it pleases me. and if i want to bask in the attention i get from other people, then thats probably my business.

it really shouldnt be such a big deal to anyone.

and people use marijuana for many purposes. if their purpose is to create an image for their own self, who are we to tell them not to?

It's an attention thing, that's not a sweeping generalization. That's just what girls who want attention do, try to group themselves so they don't realize how alone they actually are.

Look at meeeee. I'm a stoner boy
But seriously there's no big deal here except for the big deal that your making over what you think is a big deal. Just look away never let it ruin your day smoke another jay and that all I have to say

I don't necessarily think that girls refer to themselves as ' stoner girls ' to create gender bias, or to receive attention. Rather being certain types of personalities that seek attention. Just from personal experience, my sesh buddies who are girls, including myself, have never referred to being ' a stoner girl' for either reason.. it just so happens im a girl and a stoner, thus creates the term stoner girl.

As marijuana is becoming legal, less people are smoking weed. I think that's actually a good thing. First ones to go are the ones who smoke to look cool. Once it's fully legal, people will start joining in for the right reasons.

I agree entirely, but I think a big part of it is guys making it into a thing. Because it's stereotyped as a guy thing to do, guys are immediately going to the pounce on it if a girl is doing it. Males are often the ones that, for example; if a male was referring to a girl who plays video games. Instead of "gamer" he would refer to her as a "gamer girl." Whereas another female referring to a female who plays video games would probably just call her a "gamer."
It works the same with the title "stoner."

It's another thing with males trying to separate themselves from females to salvage their masculinity.

I'm with you on some levels. Weed has made me see the world from a perspective I would have never been able to achieve on my own. It has helped me through many difficult times in my life. Marijuana really is medicine--it has and continues to help so many people.
Anyways, It's easy for down-to-earth girls to spot the attention seeking, so called "stoner girl". But you might as well not pay them any attention. There will always be insecure girls who pretend to be something they're not just to impress guys. Whether it be pretending to be a stoner or pretending to like sports, those types of girls will always be around. The guys who fall or that crap are most likely just as dumb as the girl and not the type of guy you'd want to be around in the first place.
There's always gonna be kids who are new to smoking pot and want to show it off just to get a reaction (female or male). Who gives a shit if pathetic girls are being praised by pathetic guys. Find comfort in the fact that you are true to yourself and others. Be proud that you stand by marijuana for all of the right reasons. I say let the losers be losers and enjoy your high.

The term stoner girl has like nothing to do with you, it's about women resisting the erasure/simplification of our identities. Society often limits the parts of ourselves that we are allowed to express. People are so frequently considering women only in such shallow terms as their romantic/sexual/aesthetic appeal to men; our interests, our viewpoints, and the things that we value as individuals are so rarely acknowledged. Don't blame the symptom, you know, blame the root of the problem.

And so much of stoner culture is wrapped in like codes of masculinity, you know. Women are erased and ignored a lot. All of your stereotypical stoner movies are sausagefests you know, think about it. "Stoner Girl" is something that women can form communities around the way i see it, where our voices are actually acknowledged and our presence respected. We aren't constantly bending over backward trying to impress boys like you think we are.

I've had people introduce me saying 'shes a girl, but she smokes like one of the boys'. This seemed strange to me, as I have grown up around a lot of female smokers and only a couple of men that toke. Even in my friends, the number of male and female smokers is pretty much even. The term 'stoner girl' is strange to me because I never really saw smoking as a 'mans world' where being female deserved any recognition.

I'm female and my best stoner buddy is female as well and we both agree with every single word. It gets even more ridiculous when they try to show everyone they smoke by putting that maple leaf emoji on Instagram captions, buy HUF socks, wear them with UGGs and pull the socks up as high as possible, to make sure everybody knows, and just do everything possible to make people understand they smoke weed. If you're not smoking for yourself, but for other's attention, you should not smoke at all.
