The Falkland Islands.
You're very, very welcome.

Credit to FaithVDean (YouTube; gotta show props) for the below info on episode "Love of My Life," where one of Fez's compatriots (played by Justin Long) comes for a visit. In the first teaser, when his friend suggest that he goes home he says "yes, I will go to Brazil..... and then catch a flight home." In the final teaser, when Hyde finally asks them, "Where the hell are you guys from?", his friend says that the name depends on whether you ask the British or the Dutch. However, Fez explains that the British won't say it because they hate the island, and no one understands a word the Dutch say. The friend has a heavy English accent. Fez's explanation to this is that his friend is from the west side of the island. In his country, the water is bad so Fez doesn't shower daily.

So, pull up a map of South America.
It makes sense to stop in Brazil then take smaller plane to islands.
British claimed the island, however a Dutch explorer actually founded it.
The British call them the Falkland Islands and the Dutch call them the Sebald Islands.
The island is split into the East Falkland and the West.

Are we all on the same page? Hhahahahah. You convinced?

Hey guys, I´m sorry to say this but this theory is not all true.

I'm from Argentina, the falkland islands belonged to us until the british started a war for the islands. Argentina lost the war and the british took the islands.

Although the theory that Fez is from the Falkland Islands has very strong arguments, there are Fez's quotes that prove this theory wrong. For example: "Fez once claimed his country has never fought a war" and the british took the Falklands in a war. Theorically, the Falkland Islands arent a country, they belong to Britain. The Falklands are a british oversea territory. So, Fez would, tecnically, be british. And he repeats several times in the show that the british hates his country.

To the ones that may think Fez is from Argentina. Because argentinians hate the british for taking the islands away from them, and also Fez can speak spanish (in an episode he sang a Spanish love song, "Besame Mucho" to Jackie). He couldnt be argentinian because Fez once claimed his country has never fought a war and in another episode he alludes to the fact that his country "won the war" against Britain.

The strongest theory, in my opinion, is that he is from Papua New Guinea. (http://that70sshow.wikia.com/wiki/Fez's_Homeland)

"Fez has told us throughout the series that his home country is an island, they've fought against the British, and his best friend Andrew is from the west side of the island and speaks with a British accent.

Papua New Guinea is the east side of the island of New Guinea, the west half has passed hands through the Dutch, the British, and the Australians and is currently governed by Her Majesty Elizabeth II, Queen of New Guinea.

This country is:
-Hated by the Dutch.
-Its an island.
-Fez is from the East side.
-People from the West are primarily white and have an English accent.
-The British hate them
-They won the war against the British

It all fits. Fez really is Indonesian"

So, there you have it, Fez isnt from the Falklands but he could be Indonesian.

Let me know what you think!!!

To be fair, the episode where Hyde and Fez make the war statements takes place in season one (1976). The actual war hadnt happened yet. It started in 1982. So the Falkland_Islands theory is completely plausible. In fact I after researching it myself, it brought me here

Although in the episode where the gang goes up to Jackies cabin, fez states "winter is 70degrees in my country" Falkland Islands get much colder than that.

srry marie, but it is an acrronym. i know the show inside out n i also remember tht time wen they asked fez his name n wen he said it the school bell rang and they couldnt here him but in reality he was just listing off the actors nomes of the show. so push all of the actors names togehther and thts his name

That's wrong. First of all episode 63, episode 12 of season 3, is called "Fez Gets the Girl." Then of course there's you know IMDB and just about anything else that shows Wilmer Valderrama's association with That 70's Show.

In the episode where he says his name, the bell goes off right when he says his name, you never actually hear his name, Which is super long, not 3 letters. So then eric says why dont we just call you Fez, which stands for foreign exchange student. Know your shit dog, or at least google it before you go and get it wrong and look like an idiot.

I disagree. I once heard Fez singing in Spanish. No way he is from the Falklands.

He has to be from some island in Central America.
