He helps you breath, provides food, herb, & all around does the best he can. Although most of his friends return these favors by pollution, climate change, & drought. Yet he remains a good guy

all those things only hurt us who depend on the earth being a certain way.. to take your analogy further, the earth's patience can be stretched very far but there'll come a point where it won't support us any more, and will go off to find new friends

Go off to find new friends? or just cut us off as an abusive freeloader and relax while the other genuine relationships stay the course...

if we have to go our whole ecosystem will have to go with us, and a new lot of things will have to be invented to make a new ecosystem out of.. like a messy breakup where she takes all your friends.. no, it's nothing like that is it.. it's a seriously messy breakup where she kills you and all your friends hahaha

@bakayurei makes you think about the other planets like mars or the moon. Maybe at one point there was sustainable life but now it remains a silent cold planet. Looking at earth we should learn from our past to better the future & generations to come

mars's core stopped spinning, i think that's the widely held theory about why it's a dead planet now, it stopped making a magnetic field so its atmosphere had no protection against solar winds stripping it away, if that happens to us there won't be much we could do about it

no it's not, it couldn't be, i remembered this from a documentary i saw once but it doesn't sound right to me come to think about it, the earth's magnetic field becomes weaker and stronger all the time, and that's muddled my head up now haha

yep, that seems to be what experts think about it.. but the earth's gone thru a lot of pole reversals and lost its magnetic field and never lost its atmosphere.. i guess there'd have to be a coincidence of pole reversal and strong solar winds for it to happen.. i wonder how unlikely that is, it happened to mars after all.. anyway there won't be much we could do about it if it does happen

Also I was thinking about this very post the other day while I was high and doin' sprints on my bike. Was jamming to Daft Punk's - Something About Us and it made me think of the Earth as a person - a living organism at least. Call me lame, but it was a kinda powerful moment. Made me question how we humans could do all that we have to the one organism that we literally can't survive without.

What's going to happen to all of us? Are we never going to realize what we have here? Like GreenLeaf said, though, "Only time will tell".
