Why is there ice? Because there is fire.
Why are there projects? Because there are paradises.
Why are there bad people in this world? because there are good people in this world.
Why are there the hopeless? Because there are the hopeful.
Why is there sober? Because there is high.
Why is there ugliness? Because there is beauty.

Without the contrast of s

omething, nothing would have a purpose, there would be nothing for it to counteract, nothing to maintain equilibrium. All of the significance of these things would completely diminish, without the aid of it's opposite. This is why the world will never join as one. This is why there is death, because there is life.

And in that world, I hope everyone's insulin levels are at a normal healthy level so they may properly enjoy their rewards. I agree with RZA though, so two cookies for you.

Fri, 03/30/2012 - 9:49pm

Everything is by its opposite so that we can understand and appreciate it for all that it truly is~to fully comprehend it and gain wisdom from its existence.

Unfortunately not everything is so black and white...What is the contrast for murder? That person is gone from this earth, and may not be brought back, and even the demise of the killer will not right the wrong vibration that's already been expressed. I wish everything could maintain a clear contrast and we lived with balance, but this world is not one of harmony; it's a world of chaos and pain, and I suppose the contrast would be living full and happy lives, which even most who have material wealth do not feel they have experienced.

The action of murder would apply to chaos, the opposite of chaos would be cosmos.
Because there is disorder, there is also order.
We, as an entirety, believe that crimes happen in a disorderly world, but don't we also believe everything happens for a reason, for the majority?
If there were no crime, then what would order be? If there were only crime, what would chaos be?

I don't think this person is saying that there is balance in contrast. With contrast there are so many mixed hues that make that contrast, "non white black but more so many shades of grays". With a world full of the greatest evils, when you really think about it, the things that are most beautiful and lovely are so lovely because there are great evils to compare to, to contrast against!

smoke weeed every dayyyyyyyy.

Just to let you know that is a key Daoist belief, called Yin- Yang. If you found that an interesting truth you should look up wu-wei, the action of non-action

Wow, I just read into the concepts of both yin-yang and wu-wei and I never realized how similar they are to my ideology.
I've never really look into them because the family I grew up in were strict christians, and also told me that the yin-yang symbol was bad. hahaha
But thank you for that. It makes you think about how thoughts can transcend from people to people, without them even knowing. Pretty much every thought we have has been thought of before.

I don't get how ice exists because of fire, the rest make sense but that doesn't.

Ice is just the extremity of cold, as fire is the extremity of hot.
