I had this highdea and made these immediately and they turned out awesome. Makes 12 awesome, medium size muffins.

Dry Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar (or 1/4 sugar and 1/3 real maple syrup, preferably dark amber, add the syrup to the wet ingredients)
3 tablespoons Baking Powder
1/2 teasppon salt

And:

1/3 pound bacon (usually 3-6 strips, depending on thickness of the bacon)
1 cup frozen blueberries, fresh are good too, but you don't have to thaw them if you use frozen blueberries

Wet ingredients:
1/2 stick melted butter
1 cup milk
1 egg

1) Reserve 1/4 cup flour, then mix the other 1 3/4 cups with the rest of the dry ingredients in a bowl

2) in another bowl mix the milk and egg (slightly beat the egg).

IMPORTANT: Do not mix the wet and dry ingredients before everything is ready. The wet batter will go flat and the muffins won't rise well if you do.

3) Cook the bacon (don't burn it), chop or crumble it (we're talkin' cornflake size, not bits)

4) mix the 1/4 cup of flour, the bacon, and the frozen blueberries in the last mixing bowl. Shake around so the bacon pieces and berries have a good coat of flour

5) preheat the oven to 375 degrees F

6)Grease the muffin pan liberally (that means a lot)

7) Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients. That's the flour mix, the milk and egg mix, and the half-stick of melted butter.

IMPORTANT: do NOT mix well. Leave it with clumps in it.

8) add berry/bacon mix last. You want the wet and dry mixed to a clumpy batter, and the berries and bacon mixed in to be evenly distributed, but not enough to make the batter well-mixed. Having clumpy batter is important to them rising properly. Do not whip the batter at all. It shouldn't take more than a minute to mix this batter.

9) Quickly, without letting the batter sit at all, evenly distribute the batter into the muffin pan. It doesn't really matter how full the muffin-holes are

10) Bake 20-25 min, or until lightly browned.

11) Let's face it, you're not gonna let them cool. You're gonna take your stoned ass and burn your mouth on some piping-hot deliciousness.

I hope this was thorough enough to make sure that most people get it right.
