I just had a great sesh with my buddy, but after he left I started to feel a little shitty.

Yes smoking weed is better than drinking, yes it's better than cigarettes, but I don't think it's good to smoke every day.

I've smoked a lot in the last year and a half, I don't do any other drugs, and what I noticed is I'm just not the same person. I'm a little slower in the thought process, a little hazy, a little lazier, and i'm not motivated to do much.

My realization is stoners should understand there is a threshold of "too much." While you'll never die of an overdose from it, I think it's important to police yourself and make sure you stay motivated.

I'm taking a cleansing break starting right now. marijuana is a great thing, but everyone should know how to handle it. if you made it this far i appreciate it. i dont expect this to get more than four votes, but you four people matter to me. thanks

Exactly. If smoking weed everyday makes you feel that way, then you shouldn't smoke weed everyday. Wise choice, friend. I smoke every night and occasionally during the day, and try my best to live a productive, purpose driven life.

everything in moderation to much of anything can be bad, even weed

Tue, 10/07/2014 - 11:22am

You're right bro take some time off whenever you feel you need it. I noticed I would focus too much on smoking weed and when I'd be doing other things I'd just be thinking of the next time I can light up. And my apartment turned into a mess because whenever I'm there I don't think about cleaning up just smoking and then enjoying my high.

Weed is great control it don't let it control you

Wed, 10/08/2014 - 1:43am

i'm glad you're wise enough to catch yourself from digressing into poor habits, as weed sometimes inspires. you can have control over what sort of inspirations you pursue if you maintain your free will while smoking weed, which it seems like you are fairly good at doing.

It all really is yourself. You could do everything you had to do high as fuck if you really were a strongly centered and truly motivated person. Its all in your head really, but I agree with you about the stoppig part. Ive been smoking everyday for like the last 3 years, and this summer I had to stop because of some legal issues for about 2 weeks. I stopped cold turkey for 2 weeks and during those 2 weeks i felt exactly the same, happy and inspired as fuck by life. Though I do gotta say that high when I smoke that first bowl after those 2 weeks was beautiful and brought back many old feelings. I am always the same, but I notice it does effect my motivation when I don't set my priorities straight. If you don't have the right mindset cannabis can definitily negatively impact your life. But my basis for using cannabis is always with a good intention, either to connect with others or to connect me to myself and the divine and help me get into a state of love. I notice almost every time i smoke bymyself I do it with this intention, and its amazing. I am considering taking another 1 or 2 week break soon just cause.

Hey, comments, realize he said handle yourself. If you are the type of person that can smoke weed everyday without the effects he gave, then go for it. But statistically speaking i see more of those who smoke weed everyday seem rather sluggish and mopey if they're not high.

Thu, 10/09/2014 - 11:58am

I understand what your saying to a point. I don't agree that Cannabis has a huge impact on my thought process but it deffinantly does slightly. I notice when I'm baked the thoughts I think up are better than sober thoughts. It's smarter, I use larger words just because it feels right to think "smart" things. However, sometimes, not always but every now and again, it's hard to get my "genius" thoughts to go out my mouth in words exactly how I said it in my head.

Like "Exist" said it on you if you wanna do better or be more attentive just try doing it weed is an amplifier so your attitude determines what will be amplified whether is laziness, artwork, labor, or eating bomb ass food it amplifies what you're doing. I use buds to get me through my days and if you got the right mindset it doesn't make anything a chore if you look at it the right way.

This is the greatest HighDEA I have ever read, because the exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago.

I was two months sober at summer camp this year (fuckin busy summer), and when I got back, I must have consistently smoked weed every day for a month. Multiple times a day. Like five bowls a day.

I started to experience exactly what you were feeling like whenever I was sober: a little slower in the thought process, a little hazy, a little lazier, and not motivated to do much.

While I still want weed to be a part of my life, I realized before I left for my second year of college that there should be a limit to the amount you smoke so that it doesn't affect your productivity.

Spot on, man. Spot on.

I agree 100% man. Weed is a GREAT thing, but to much of any one thing will leave you blind. NOTHING wrong with smoking every day, (believe me, I did it for years) but I prefer every other day or every few days if possible. You loose that really special feeling you get when you smoke if you do it too too much. After stopping for even just a week and then lighting up it is such a better high! I think we can all agree that having a low tolerance is fucking sweet! You use less weed, spend less money, and feel better when your sober AND when your high! Nothing wrong with smoking a lot every day, just sayin...

I dont know if someone already replied like this but it all depends on the person. This is definitely a wise realization and one I came about as well. Weed is great, and it opens your mind, but it does nothing to inspire hard work!

I'm in a similar boat currently when it comes to motivation… as well as my thought processes. When I smoke every day, I have noticed that I do get a little slower. I can only imagine what it would be like for someone who's been smoking 20+ years when I've only been smoking like 2.

Marijuana has also been messing with my memory. This past year I haven't went more than a week without smoking, and even though I remember everything that happened this year… it almost feels like they aren't *my* memories. Like I wasn't actually present. I do have a personality disorder with dissociative symptoms; however, my therapist told me that marijuana is likely to increase my dissociative symptoms further if I smoke it on a regular basis. And honestly it makes sense to me that anything you use to alter your consciousness would affect your perception of reality, what's going on around you as well as yourself and the relation between the two.
No, my therapist isn't just trying to get me to stop smoking. She already told me that marijuana is great if it calms me down when I need to relax. She just wants me to use it in moderation.

I love weed ridiculously, but smoking every day (and several times a day) definitely isn't for everyone.

Wed, 11/19/2014 - 2:59pm

its not the weed bro it's u i have been smoking multiple times a day for around 10 years now and i am one of the most active people i know. I do everything stoned if anything it motivates me to get out and do shit because i enjoy everything more stoned
