This is a story about a girl. Lets call her Matilda. This story, like life, doesnt really have a great begining, the parts wont be in any sort of order, it might have some funny parts and some sad parts, and most of it wont make any sense at all. Shall we begin?

Matilda was walking down the street one rainy day. She didnt bring an umbrella, because she often liked walking in the rain. She didnt avoid any puddles, because she often liked the splishy splashy feeling that jumping in puddles brought. She smiled at everyone she saw, because she often enjoyed bringing a smile to people that she never met before. If you saw Matilda walking past you, you would probably think she was in deep thought about something...its because she always was. It could have been a deep serious thought, like about relationships she had, or a completely goofy and silly thought, like how funny it would be to watch hundreds of birds in standing in a row doing line dancing.

Hold on, hold on. Before we move any furthur in the story, whose voice are you reading this in? Dont tell me your reading it in your own voice, thats no fun. Hmmm, lets see, whose voice would be fun to read this in? Morgan Freeman? "you either get busy livin, or you get busy dieing." NAH, I think we've used Mr. Freeman's voice to story narration a few too many times. Ive always enjoyed Sean Connery's deep voice, so Im going to use his. You dont have to, you can pick ANYONE. do this now.

Ready? ok lets keep going. Matilda kept walking along, splishing splashing in every puddle she saw, and singing songs that that she didnt know all the words to and singing completely off key. Matilda had a very special delivery to make on this very special day. When you give something to someone that isnt really expecting anything, its one of the greatest feelings in the world. Not only does it make the person recieving the gift a whole lot happier, but it also makes you feel so much better inside. She had 20 blocks to go before she would meet this person. She could have drove there, but she prefered walking. She did her deepest thinking while walking.

Dont you have narrorators that keep interupting the story? I know, I hate them too but this is important! Are you just reading the words to this story or are you picturing the scene inside of your mind as we go alone? YOUR NOT? WHY NOT!?! That is no way to read a story, dear sir or madaam. Ok, before we move on, we all need to learn how to paint a story inside of our minds. Matilda needs a face and a body. So lets give her one. Who should we picture Matilda as? Im personally going through a phase where im in love with Mila Kunis, so for me Matilda is Mila Kunis. You can picture anyone who you prefer. Have you thought of someone yet? Good. Now lets picture Matilda standing in a white room, and build the scenery around her. So are you picturing her in this room? Good. Now, lets picture her waving at us. WHOA, WASNT THAT COOL? Now, lets picture her, doing the worm. HAHA, that was funny. Now lets picture her...mooning us? HA, that was kinda gross, but kinda awesome.

Ok, back to the story. Lets take matilda out of this white room, and give her a background. So imagine her, walking down this street, in the pouring rain, singing and dancing as she goes, not caring at all about what strangers looking at her are thinking. She was getting closer to her destination, which just made her happier and happier. Suddenly, she saw something sticking out of the ground just a few feet away. It was a weed, growing out of the concrete. Most people dont look at weeds, and less people find the beauty in them. But Matilda always looked for beauty inside of everything, and often she found it. This weed was nothing special, nor was it good to look at. But by golly, it was a trooper. It must have taken all of its courage and might to grow through concrete, she thought. And even though it was probably stepped on a dozen times a day, it continued to survive, and thrive. "whoa" thought Matilda. "If more people could live life like this here weed, the world would be a better and stronger place." And just like that, Matilda found the beauty that lied inside this here weed.

Ok, I know your thinking "DAMNIT Sean Connery, stop inturupting the story and let me get on with hearing about Matilda's journey!" To be honest with you, I dont really have a story. I just thought that I could start writing, and maybe just maybe, something beautiful would unfold before our very eyes. But we had fun though, didnt we? We saw a girl without a care in the world dancing and enjoy the beauty of life. We saw a puddle, splishing and splaching. And most importantly, we saw Mila Kunis doing the worm and mooning us. So...where do we go from here? I suppose I could just start talking about something completely irrelevant to the story.

How does everyone here feel about dreams? Did you know that every single person you have ever seen in your dreams has been someone you have seen in your life? Even if you saw them for a split second, your brain has the power to save their image inside its database. Fucking...whoa. So lets think about this for a second... we see about, what, atleast 100 faces a day right? And atleast half of them are people we have never seen before. So, if you lived for 70 years, your mind would have 1,277,500 faces store inside of it. Lets add a few hundred thousand to that, because there will be many days where you see a lot more than 100 people. Pretty cool right? Now just imagine this from a completely different point of many people in this world, have a perfect image of you stored inside of their mind? Millions. How many of these people have had a dream where you were the main character? Thousands. Im not kidding you, you have been inside of a complete strangers mind, a countless number of times. Theres a good chance that somewhere in the world, someone is dreaming and you appeared in it. Just keep that in mind, until the end of the story. I think theres a chance we can tie all of this together.

Matilda reached a little coffee shop, where a man was sitting just inside the window. This man's eyes looked full of sadness, but his face was showing the world that he was contempt with his life. Thats the thing about eyes, they always give away your secrets. Next time you are talking to someone, just look deep inside there eyes, and theres a good chance you will know something they are not saying, but deep down want to. Matilda walked into the coffee shop, took out the letter that she was meant to deliver, gave it to the man, hugged him as hard as she could, and said "your beautiful." Quite the strange experience for this man, as he had never once met Matilda in his life. She turned around and walked out the door, dancing and singing as she went along. The man read the letter, laughing at certain points, and holding back his tears at other points. But when he finally finished reading this letter, he felt a sense of peace and happiness that he hadnt felt in years. He knew that things would probably not end up being ok, but he was happy to take the journey anyways.

"what the hell Sean Connery, what kind of story was that? What the hell happened? What did the letter say. WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL IS GOING ON?!?!" hey come on now, I told you at the begining of this journey that this story probably wouldnt make any sense. And just like life, it doesnt have an ending yet. But too bad, you already paid me your money and I said NO REFUNDS! MUAHAHAHA. But, I guess, I could give you a somewhat ending to this whole entire thing.

So what do you guys think about the afterlife? Do you think it exists? I have this theory, and you might not think its true, but you might apreciate hearing it none the less. Remember how I was talking about dreams earlier, and how you appear in people's dreams? So check this out. Like we said earlier, you have probably appeared in thousands of peoples dreams. Dreams last only 15 minutes or so, but in dream time thats about 3 hours. So, according to our numbers we crunched earlier, you are probably "alive" in someone's dream for 10,000 hours, so about 400 days. What if this is the afterlife? What if after you die, you spend these countless hours living inside people's dreams? How awesome does that sound? You know how completely fantastical dreams are? I personally would love having my afterlife spent living in dreams. And the more people you see, the more people you show yourself to, the longer you spend inside their dreams, hence the longer your afterlife. So dont just sit there in your room...go outside. Meet someone. Smile at a stranger. Make yourself known, and live forever.

Wow... That story was a winding road. so yeah:

1. Mila Kunis is soooooo hot. I mean, just... damn. So hot.

2. Those were some aggresive interruptions. I was afraid to stop reading.

3. I don't really think about the afterlife, I guess I'll figure that stuff out when I die.

4. I never remember my dreams, it sucks.

yoinkie Says:

1. Completely agreed. Not only looks hot, but great personality as well. I bet you enjoyed picturing her mooning you, dont worry, I did too.

2. Yea, Sean Connery is one inturupting SOB.

3. I dont think about it that much either. It was just fun to create another theory, as unplausible as it sounds. Even if its not true, its still fun to know how much you appear in people's dreams.

4. There are many things you could do to help you with that.

Mon, 07/04/2011 - 6:31pm

TheIrish ^ if you really want to remember them then: Think about having more dreams when you go to sleep and write down anything you can remember about your dreams when you wake up, also sometimes it helps me if I think of some dreams I can remember right before I go to sleep.

Your theory on the after life is dazzling! Would there be others in this dream world after life?

Paragraph #6/9, and all the interruptions are extraordinary. I find this story very inspirational. I'm sure that special someone is very grateful you took the time to do this. I'm going to deem this one my favorite so far.

P.S. I envy your creativeness

Ofcourse there would be others! Sometimes there would be new people youve never met, sometimes it would be your best friend, and sometimes that special someone. And sometimes, it would be just you and a bunch of fantastical looking creatures that dont necesarily have to exist(but they must know how to dance).

haha the inturuptions were fun. I didnt feel like it was necesary to have a story per say, just to write and have fun while doing it.

I hope that special someone really does it enjoy it, I have a feeling that they might :)

Do they dance on rainbows?! Or maybe slide down rainbows. How much fun would that be?

I have this theory on how Matilda, the letter/man, and the dreams connect. I need to re-read this a few more times to make sure I didn't miss anything

Tue, 07/05/2011 - 7:30am
yoinkie Says:

Please do explain! I have a theory that you may be right

Tue, 07/05/2011 - 1:55pm
dimples Says:

Okie doke. I will try my best to explain one of my many theories. I make really weird/strange connections in my head (most of which should stay in there, but oh well). After the first time I read this, I thought maybe Matilda was a dream or the man, but after more studying I realized that's wrong.

But the whole weed paragraph made me think, Well if Matilda can see the beauty in a weed, that has worked so hard to survive, maybe it could symbolize nightmares. Nightmares may not have beauty, but they do have symbolism. Like the weed, people shrug (such a funny word- it's like saying 'rug' with a lisp) off nightmares, over look the meaning.

I hope I'm making sense.

Anyways, The letter could represent dreams, and how all our dreams may be connected. Good, bad, lucid dreams could all be connected. I don't have time to finish explaining but I hope you understand the basics of my theory :)

Tue, 07/05/2011 - 8:02pm
yoinkie Says:

I love where your mind went with that all. Nightmares definetely have to mean something, in many cases they could be something very important that your subconscious is trying to tell you. Am I the only one that remembers nightmares much more clearly and vivedely than non-nightmares? Maybe your subconscious allows this because, like you said, its trying to tell you something. So your interpretation, like everyones is right. Thats the thing about stories, everyone creates the story in their own certain way.

Sliding down rainbows? YES! That remind me of mario kart, the rainbow road level. Can you please come over and play it with me? Ill even let you be mario, but only if you bring me doritos.

Tue, 07/05/2011 - 11:04pm
dimples Says:

If I don't write my nightmare down immediately after I wake up, I'll forget it, but I'm able to recognize a repeating nightmare. Whatever my subconscious is trying to tell me, it's making put the puzzle pieces together first. So, what gave you the inspiration for the dreams part? How does it connect to Matilda, and her letter? I'm itching to know.

Oh yes, of course. I may even let you win a few times, if you're lucky. I suppose on the way I could stop for doritos. I invented the best sammie today! Well it was wrap, a turkey wrap. With chipotle mayo, spinach, and crumbled up wheat thins, so good. You'll have to try it one day

Spectacular story and a very interesting theory. I wish I knew what you're voice sounded like. You'd always be my narrarator! :D But I pictured my girl as Ellen Page.

Ever see inception? That movie was awesome as fuck. I had a dream about weed last night and I got a bong that looked really cool and weed came in gum packs with a cannabis flower on the front. we bought out our dealer. smoked a fuckton of weed. awesome. me and my friends hotboxed my summerhome in Wildwood.

And who was your girl? I'm interested in finding out who everyone picked

Wed, 07/06/2011 - 1:41am

Girl - Olivia Wilde
Narrator - Ricky Gervais(love that guy).

But okay, here is my take on the story.
Matilda represents the care-free, selfless part of us all.
And the rain represents the sadness dwelling over us at all times.
Matilda walking through the rain represents the sadness that dwells over us, and matilda choosing to walk in the rain to deliver her message indicates that she doesn't take the easy way out of things(driving instead of walking), because she knows that avoidance of such things would just result in unhappiness.

The weed surviving being stepped on is seen as a sign of hope, seeing that even through all of the turmoil she endures, she is much like the weed, coming up through hard times, but making it through nonetheless.

The man with the sullen look in his eyes represents the feelings that we hold in, but don't say.
He wallows in all of the sadness, and doesnt think it will get any better. All until Matilda(his happier side) comes along and gives him the message.

The mysterious message. I believe the message the man received from Matilda was a look at his life over all of the years, with some sadness, some happiness, and some of the in-between.
Matilda was the man's subconscious, telling him that no matter what, he will be okay, and everything will be alright.

I hope I was somewhat close to what your ingenious mind tried to portray.
Your writing is some of the most inspiring literature I have ever read.
It makes me happy just reading what you put down. You sir, are my favorite HighDEAlist on this site.

I...dont know what to say. Its very rare that im ever left flabbergasted, but you sir just did it. I feel like you just stepped inside my mind and basically read my brain like an open book. Every single thing you said was exactly what I was going for. I can barely add anything to this.

Basically like you said, this was a journey of a person through their own subconscious, maybe in a form of a dream. The man is like many of us; lonely, scared, afraid of whats to come, unwilling/unable to fully express themselves. His uncertainty has left him with almost a void inside of himself, so he creates matilda, again like you said, his "happiness" that dwells within himself(just like it dwells within us all). Its the care-free unhibition self that looks at every single thing in life from a positive. You were dead on as what to the rain represented. The puddles are the holes and obstacles that many people avoid. They know that they need to conquer these demons and hurdles, but many people choose to avoid them over and over. But Matilda, his subconscious, took them head on, because this was his journey to enlightenment and he could no longer avoid these puddles of life.

Again, you were completely right about the weeds. I have nothing to add to that, other than that even things we ignore everyday truely hold beauty inside of them, only if you really take the time to take a look.

Your right about the man as well. He is the end of the journey, its when the subconscious allows itself to connect directly to the man that it is within. The letter, you were right on again. The man finally realized that, yes life has its sadness, and happiness, and its ever so hard, that the journey(like matilda's) is always worth taking.

I dont think anyone has ever gone that deep inside my mind as you have sir. Everytime I write anything, I always have a deeper meaning, the meaning that are created inside my brain that I am not able to put into words. So I disguise them with metaphors because A. people can relate to them easier and B. I can express myself more clearly through them.

I feel like I need to come sit down with you and smoke endless bowls. Thank you, man. And I mean that in the highest regards.

Wed, 07/06/2011 - 2:35am

Yoinkie, thank you so much, it makes me so immensely happy that I could connect with you so deeply.
Your writing, like i have said before, is some of the most inspirational pieces I have ever had the pleasure to read.
Reading though this, I was able to interpret the metaphors and secrets entailed into every line so seamlessly, thanks simply to the way you write.

The endless bowls sounds like the best idea I have ever heard, I feel like just listening to you, would be the most insightful experience I may ever go through.

I pictures my girl as Zooey Deschanel. ALSO, this method of writing is VERY.....what's the fucking word? The way the narrator keeps cutting in. It makes you want to read the rest of the main story while getting some laughs. You've inspired me to write a series of books and I'm starting tonight.

and when you said to stop and imagin her waving at me, i seriously just thought of that for a whole 2 minutes.

ANYway, about the dreams, if a child is born and only sees his mothers face then is isolated, will he only have dreams of his mother? then he could grow up and travel the world and find his mother? OHHH shit i think i just made a movie idea!!

on to the actual story, im not gonna lie, im not the type of guy that can keep up with stories like that. i wanted to punch my british narrator in the face for being a dick cuz he wouldnt let me read. but hey, i like the idea about dreaming and afterlife dreaming. good read.
