Anyone else feel like they were born in the wrong generation? Man, I wish I was around for the 60s and 70s... I would totally have been a hippie. Woodstock? Oh fuck yeah! Think of all the amazing music that was around then... Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Who, The Stones, I could go on forever! That was when "pop" music was actually cool and had loads of talent. Now we have Beiber..

Duuuude. I dream of living back then like every fucking day... :((

Fri, 11/25/2011 - 12:43pm

Not trying to be a negative nancy but, if you wanted to attend woodstock, you would probably want to be born before the 60's. Woodstock was 1969. At the most, you would be 9 years old. I highly doubt you would of even cared at that age.

Sun, 02/26/2012 - 12:28pm

he didn't say he wanted to be born in the 60's though. he said he felt like he was born in the wrong generation and he wanted to be around for the 60's and 70's

I'd like to be around for the late 70's and 80's for the music

It's great to actually talk to people who understand this feeling; everyone I always talk to about Zeppelin and Pink Floyd and Grateful Dead and just that time in general, they never understand. It's brutal. But all y'all know what's up. Keep smokin' and keep appreciating the classics everyone. Peace and Love!

Sat, 04/20/2013 - 3:43am

I know the feeling, I believe that you can't whole heartedly love a genre of music until you experience the classics first. With out the classics we wouldn't have any of today's music.

Sat, 04/20/2013 - 3:39am

Oh man, I tell people this all of the time! I listen to all of those bands, and I would do anything to see every Led Zeppelin concert that ever existed. Every one just calls me a stoner and tells me I'm right. Ha, even my dad.

Sat, 04/20/2013 - 7:00pm

i'd like to be in the 50's. i really like their rockabilly music and their dance style. 60's was also great since it spawned the new age thinking we have today. if i was back in the 60's, i'd totally be experimenting with LSD a lot.

Imagine living during the The Renaissance in Italy!........ 70s would have been a great time! but being a kid during the 90s with the evolution of new beggings was the shit........ and with all the convenient technology we have now makes living in this time period pretty cool, but at the same time it can be really distracting from the real world

I wish people wouldn't see things like that :\
a) this is the now, and we should enjoy it instead of wishing for what we can't change
b) we have technology these days that makes it very simple to hear the music of any generation :)

So, although I hear where you're coming from, just enjoy the things that we have now that we wouldn't have then :D
No highdeas back then hahaha

You are by far, the most unoriginal little bong fucker to ever walk this planet... God I hate you...

Mon, 04/22/2013 - 3:30pm

Sounds like you are the one being fucked by a bong. Chill out, man.

Mon, 04/22/2013 - 11:06pm

Unoriginal? I feel like so many of highdeas are the same. But that's because many of us think alike. I don't think it's about taking someone else's idea, just thinking of the same thing. If that's what you think though, then we're pretty much all unoriginal...

Duuudes, if you really want, you can totally be a hippy. Nothing stopping you, plus there is an abundance of drugs, music festivals, and the cool people all listen to just as much of that good shit as they did back in the day!

Besides, you dont really wanna hang out with the poops who listen to shit like Beiber anyway lolz

Mon, 04/22/2013 - 12:26am

I love that whole era everything about it....My parents are considered old for my age, not Woodstock old (My pops was 11) but I have grown up at rallies, concerts, and sometimes around the occasional swap-meet. I love the hippy thing but let's not forget good ol'fashion rock n' roll.

You most likely were apart of it, especially if you believe in reincarnation. I feel that whatever time I feel most connected to in history, I definitely think I lived through that period. I've always had a strong fascination for WWII for whatever reason, I'd watch abunch of WWII movies, and T.V Shows I'd play alot of WWII games, even dress up and play army in my backyard! I've never really been grossed out or repulsed by violence or gore. So I definitely feel I fought in WWII in a past life

The 60's and 70's weren't just about the great music. So much amazing music came out of that era because it was a time for revolution. A time to say fuck you to the old fashioned (yet still awesome) views of the 50's and stand up to say hell yes I want to do drugs and hell no I do not want fight in your stupid fucking war. I am not black but I'm pretty sure I would have fought for them in the 60's to have equal rights, how can you tell them they have to fight for our country but can't eat a burger at the same joint as a white man. Im getting off track here but damn some of the best people in the world came out of the 50's-70's y'all didnt even mention Motown.

Mon, 04/22/2013 - 9:23pm

I would have liked to experience the 90's a bit as a teenager instead of spending them on my first 9 years.

Mon, 04/22/2013 - 11:01pm

I've thought about that many times. I'd be a hippie and an activist, getting high and protesting.

Wed, 04/24/2013 - 11:39pm

i think the best part about that time was that nobody let anything get in between them, it was just good times. most people today get upset over the smallest thing, or are almost psychotic in their support of it (religion..ahhheeeem). but anyways still a great time to experience, wouldve loved it just so i can live through the 80's too lol

I thought I was the only one who thought this way too. I tell my friends all the time I wish I was a late teenager to early 20's hippie of the 60's. That would have been a great life experience. Such a spiritual awakening to be apart of. Especially in L.A and New York. Man, to be around the Haight-Ashbury district in 1967, The Summer of Love. Life was so much simpler.

Sat, 04/27/2013 - 5:11am

I know exactly how you feel. Back when there were things worth fighting for. And so much love for one another (assuming you're a hippi) and rock and roll and manners! Omg manners! I get this generations whole "idgaf" deal but still manners go a long way.
