Grand Theft Auto: Your City

I realized last night that it would be sweet if they made a game that had open do-whatever-you-want gameplay like Grand Theft Auto, but instead of running around Liberty City or Vice City, the city was an exact replica of your home town. I don't know how they'd do it (maybe work out some deal with Google Maps or Google Earth), but that would be an insanely satisfying game.

I thought of this idea once too, it's soo sick. Games with open gameplay are sick and mad fun especially when ripped because there are an infinite number of entertaining things you can do. Like in GTA IV watching cartoons on TV in the game.

you could do all the stuff in your area, that you can't do in real life, that you really want to. like if you see a corner that would be prime for a freedrift, go home and hop on the xbox, hit it up. or like, a gap between buildings that you really want to try jumping, but it's too dangerous, GTA: seattle!

not to be a buzz kill, but a friend at work and I thought of this a while ago and realized that they would probably never do this, cause people could plan like terrorist attacks and robberies and stuff..but that would be a pretty sweet game

I think this would make actual crime rates drop due to people having a vehicle to vent their frustrations in an alternate reality. Like, tons of teens would drive on the football field of their high school, vengeful dudes can drive to their gf's house to do a drive-by ... maybe even throw poop at your neighbors door! Or your own!!!

Google needs to develop a PR angle for being THE tool for teen angst in the virtual world ...
